![]() I played only FFR before merry christmas, I played only FFR during the down time, I play only FFR now.
I didn't have oni before the revival. I now have 8 FMO AAAs. People just get better with time and SM has little or nothing to do with it IMO.

![]() The only downside to playing Stepmania that I can see is that you adjust to a stricter time frame leading you to hit notes more precisely by instinct thus lowering your overall speed (IIDX did this to me)

![]() Timing is something fairly difficult to do consistently, so this simply requires a lot of experience and practice. Reading ability is just a raw skill you work up, and once that is high enough, you'll naturally start to full combo stuff.
For now, just work on playing and practicing, but at the same time forcing your reading ability to improve. Play charts that are just barely hard enough for you to be able to do well on.
