300 years would only kick into effect if he got the worst case scenario. It's definitely not going to be anything nearly that high.

Of course not. 300 years is only a theoretical maximum for the amount of time he could spend in prison. Not only will he more then likely not be charged to the full extent of the law, he will probably serve concurrent sentences. Realistically, I'd say you're looking at 2-10 years and he'll probably get out on parole long before that.

And here in Canada, a life sentence simply means 25 years. I can't speak for the states but I suspect it's the same.

I think it's funny. Now the person that should have gotten 300 years is that lady and her daughter who got that other girl to kill herself because they made a fake account on MySpace of a guy, who said that he liked her, and then broke up with her, and the girl killed herself. The lady and her daughter got off scott-free.

The only reason the 300 years was brought up was because the media wanted to sensationalize the story. I mean, throw that large of a number out there and suddenly people are intrigued. The actual chances of him getting that, like a lot of people have been saying, is unlikely.
