![]() You know what he meant, AJ. It's a "jack song" not in the sense that it's like Starlight, but there's a lot of jacks/minijacks in it which there definitely are. I don't completely agree that Oops requires a different skillset than Retro City since they are both heavy in minijacks and both contain endings with jumpjacks. The main difference between these two files is that the BPM is slightly higher in Oops (compared to the ending of Retro City). Actually.. thinking back, these two files have A LOT in common, even the arrow count is practically the same lol.

I hardly consider Oops a "jack" file. Emphasis on the unintentionally high usage of "quotes". |

![]() Jack file or not, it's almost a dupe of Retro City. The main difference imo is that instead of slow trills you get slightly easier slow gallops and a faster, more aggravating ending. I think being barely harder is more of a problem than being barely different though. Or rather, those two things make each other bigger problems. It's understandable if people want more variety.

![]() Thank god for a file that doesn't require jumpstream/speed ability. I should be able to nab this one and move on.
It's so nice to get a song that doesn't destroy me lmfao. I found Pussy Pump way harder D= |

![]() What's this I smell?
![]() Failure... Also while looking at this picture I started thinking about my asshole and how corn exfoliates it which reminded me of hi19 and his excellent stepfiles and I just want to say Blue Marine felt like a hi19 file and that's why I want corn now. /topic |

![]() I really don't like what wilson did to Arrhythmia. It's overstepped (too many arrows to mini flams/REALLY short bzzt, 3/4 arrows for this just makes it awkward with all those whites/green notes) and those awkward 24ths. I really liked his easier version on DF but this is like Obscene Amounts of Steam on DF compared to it on FFR.

![]() My impressions of round 2!
Reset: This song sounds like it's fit for a Walt Disney movie. If there was a Japanesque version of Mulan, this song would certainly fit into such a film. The file itself is a big step up from round 1, especially for D1 players. There were several hands, but it was the fair bit of layering that I thought was the biggest challenge. It was also fairly long for an early D1 song as well. Hi Silvuh! Wonder World!: My favorite song for this round. It sounds like Kirby but with a harmonic melody that I love even more. The file was a decent rendition of what could obviously be a harder chart. Still found one cymbal crash that lacked a jump, which irks me a little. Since I really like this song, I might make a harder version of this another time. Hi Silvuh! Blue Marine: This sounds like some Gradius-Megaman music that would fit into a video game. Pure swing files often lack variety due to the nature of stepping swing files, but this one managed to offer as much as it could. Nice file. I guess D3 gets a chart from Elite Ninja yet again. ![]() Walk on Water: This song and chart both have a lot of variety. Great remix of Sonic 3's Hydrocity Zone. Is it harder than the previous round's song for D4? I can't really agree. I'd put it as almost the same difficulty or so, albeit the skill sets needed are a bit different, as this one has more bursts of variable color. Since the previous round had more jacks, you might hypothesize that a lot of people found this round easier, due to jacks being a weak skill set for most. Hi Silvuh! Oops: Interesting song. Now it's my turn to pitch in the nature of this file. Is it a jack-oriented file? Heh, heck yes it is. I think the ending puts this file apart in difficulty from the previous round though; it really requires a lot of control to avoid hitting boos. I think that's what this file (and Retro City) is all about: control. Beautiful Arrhythmia: The chart, as I mentioned back when I was reviewing it a while ago, is the epitome of buzz-bursty charts. This is a classic example. It's certainly fun to play, but I don't think the song is very...beautiful. It's like a woman popped her head for a second to interrupt the song with one word (-beautiful-) before it resumed its buzzy nature. Also, a lot of Stepmania-addicted players may recognize this song. ![]() Aaaaaaaaaanyway, what is wrong with you, Yosh, all your files have two-handed jumpjacks in them </3 My best run I had 1-0-0-1 going out of the roll section, finished with 4-0-0-3, goddamn so much control to avoid splitting and the bootraps. Good for a tourney file that's supposed to test skill, but I'm probably going to stay away from this one for a while afterwards. |

![]() Oops is incredibly annoying to score on but really fun to play. BA seems a tad bit overstepped but I like it that way~
Walk on Water should probably be docked a few points in rating. |
