Re: Fractal_Monkey's Time Trial Tournament
Not all the rounds will be reflex-based. Besides, a 61.xx is looking rather good right about now.

Re: Fractal_Monkey's Time Trial Tournament
with your scoring, all it takes is 1 person to destroy everyone else.... if everyone is 60-75 and 1 person comes in at 45... they'll get 100 and everyone else will be in the 60s/50s.
man do i hope you pick a game i can do that in. .

Re: Fractal_Monkey's Time Trial Tournament
Time spread is an issue. I've tried to make it so that there are multiple rounds with a high scoring spread, so that if someone gets a huge lead in one round, they can potentially be pegged back. Of course, there's the risk of the same person destroying the field several times, in which case they'd probably deserve to win.
In any case, this is better than a simple aggregate time model, and I wanted to try something other than position = points. We'll see how horribly it backfires on me. |

i'm fine with it.... i'm confident enough in my overall speed gaming abilities for it not to worry me that much.

Re: Fractal_Monkey's Time Trial Tournament
You might not suck at the other six games. A bad score is still much better than no score.

Re: Fractal_Monkey's Time Trial Tournament
Anyone who beats my time gets a bonus point, so you both get one.

1. the way your score is written is all Lines put together and the real scores are smoth and don't look like there's lines in them 2. In the top scores for today it says your best score was 60 seconds and it updates right away right when the score is set. And isn't funny that your score is almost the same as mine and you posted it almost right after i posted mine. I now for sure your cheating just post your 60 second score and not a fake one and its only the first round. EDIT: I took a look at the scores again and blackjack did get in th 58 seconds just mine one because im in second place and he is in third so he still edited his score. Re: Fractal_Monkey's Time Trial Tournament
Okay:
1) In the high score table, times are rounded down to the nearest second. I don't think there's any particular order to how identical times are ranked - probably by when it was achieved. It still recorded in Kongregate's server, and that's good enough for me, so I'll take it as legit. 2) The 59.xx I got was earlier this week. The 62 was a random run today. It has absolutely no relevance to anyone else's score. 3) High scores sometimes take a short time to record. They may not record at all if the connection goes funny. Even so, you won't see someone else's new score until you click to another high score list or refresh the browser. 4) The screenshot itself looks fine. The text is fuzzy, but consistent. Notably, that entire row is fuzzy, not just the digits after the decimal point. The score stands. Sk8IT, it was probably just a coincidence that blackjack got that time when he did. Please don't be so hasty to outright accuse people of cheating. Edit, due to the other score while I was typing: I would prefer if you played the game on the site I link to on the first page. I know it's annoying to not be able to play due to connection problems, but this round is open for nearly a month. I'm sure you can get close to that or better when Kongregate starts co-operating again. i.e. I'm taking the 58.38 score. |
