You did not attach a file to the email. Despite putting a direct link, please attach the file directly to the email. Thanks.
make sure you put your file in a zip and then attach it to the email

Yeah, precisely. When the time is close, we'll make an announcement on a real date, but still in advance. I'd say within the range of one to two weeks is sufficient.

We can give:
1) a ballpark announcement like we have (e.g. August 2012)
2) and when the batch opening approaches, give an exact date (e.g. August 25)

Just like the announcements of movie or video game releases.

Then how is the submitter to know if their file was even received?

That is a bit.. unethical...

Guess we should all just resend our files repeatedly just to make sure they were received~

That shouldn't be a problem, Frank. If you sent the email but forgot to attach your zip file to it, bmah would've told you already. If they just didn't receive it (which has never happened before from what I understand), you should still have a sent version of your email saved and should be able to resend it by contacting the admins.

Confirming on the go the file they receive would definitely be cool, but on the the other hand it's not like you're doomed if they didn't receive it.

Yaya,
you basically got what I was doin'.

Confirmation on the go--
it would be nice as hell, but now that you said no one has never 'not' received a file then it doesn't really matter~

edit: ur profile pic makes me read your post as if you were yelling at me

Only method you can confirm before the batch close is asking us individually.

Only possibilities are e-mail address error, forgetting attach file (or upload link expiriration due to the wrong submission method), sent to spam box automatically for some reason, or we forget to dl the file for some reasons.

In my Alchemy file, the 192nd (14) jump at beat 128.75 (measure 32; 71.23816 sec) should be a regular 16th. Do you want me to send the .rar again just for that one fix?
