Re: League of Legends
Mid and jungle are probably one of your best choices if you want to carry and win a game. Playing soraka and blaming your team is pretty stupid since you can't stop people from being idiots. May as well get yourself fed on a better champ and win.

Re: League of Legends
She must've sucked, because if you build her right and know how to play AP Trist, she is like AP Poppy
I know because I used to use AP Trist all the time On other news: 2-2-36 AP/Tank Hybrid Alistar

Re: League of Legends
in my opinion the chances of you winning depends on your champion choice
for example if you're good with vayne play her bot, push the game to late-game by constantly defending your turrets (flash tp lol) and then everyone knows how late game Vayne usually is. instant kills everyone, including tanks........ jungle, lee sin is a good choice but i've played lee sin to know well enough that your late game basically sucks (i prefer lane sin solo top for a better late game). it becomes dragon kicks to knock out an essential person from a fight or get a good knockup on the enemy team and shields plus your slow as much as possible while trying to land a q to finish a support/ad carry. WW in jungle late-game is the best choice honestly i don't think there's some kind of champion that will carry you to high elo, its your own skill and knowledge of LoL that helps you win. if you can call out a decent dragon, a decent baron, and even when to push and grab a turret over helping your team push mid is all really essential to winning matches. |

Re: League of Legends
If you want to actually ENJOY playing LoL, don't play solo queue. EVER

Re: League of Legends
This... The only times I consistently gain elo are when I duoqueue with my friend. I main AD and he pseudo-mains support so it works really well. Also, solo queue is so full of trolls and flamers that it's painful.

Re: League of Legends
You could probably get away with soloqueueing eventually, but you've gotta get your rating up first. Either have a really strong duo bot comp with a friend or try to take both mid and jungle so you can effectively sway all three lanes into your favor. Going it alone will likely end in frustration no matter how well you play.
In other news, I've got an acquaintance that plays, possibly the worst player I've ever seen. Tries to get my boyfriend to play ranked with him, I won't even play normals with the kid myself. An example of his average game kd is like X-XX-X. His cs is rarely triple digit, no matter how long the game is. Saw his ranked matches and died laughing, he had a Mundo game where I'm pretty sure he jungled (just cuz I've never seen him lane Mundo) and somehow managed to only get 18cs while going 2-10-3. Best part of it is I've tried to tell him where to improve and he just tells me I have a god complex and ignores me lol. |

Re: League of Legends
So. How bout that Varus. AA crits for 1k at a 2.0 AS. Fun stuff. Black Cleaver actually feels useful, for once.

Re: League of Legends
I actually haven't had a need for frozen mallet. But yeah the typical build is what I went with, threw in a cleaver because it synergized well, and it really does. Haven't gotten to the end of the build, which is where I normally toss a mallet, I've successfully rolled over every other Varus I've seen and won too quickly, even trying to draw out the match. Not much a fan of qss unless I'm being targetted by a Malz or ww or something.

Re: League of Legends
I want to play LoL, but I hear from friends that most games require 30-60+ minutes of uninterrupted attention .. something I don't have.
For all you LoL'ers out there, is there a game mode which would better suit a casual gamer? Looking for like ~15 min games. |

Re: League of Legends
Dominion, which is like Arathi Basin from WoW. Capture 5 points and don't lose yours :P they last around 15-25 minutes.

Re: League of Legends
And if you really want something more along the lines of just skirmishing a bunch without much care for objectives, probably ARABs, although if the team comps are fair enough they can stretch for a while. I'd say just play Dominion until you got a few hundred games under your belt before starting those though, cuz otherwise you'll likely just dick things up for your team without experience, and ARABs won't be fun if there are only like 10 champ possibilities.
Edit: Also if you start playing be prepared for rage. Dominion suffers less from it because people aren't devoting an hour of their time to something only to have one derpwad ruin it, but they still get plenty mad. The LoL community probably rages more than any community I've seen, including 10 year old Xbox players and raid groups on their 20th wipe. Last edited by speeddemon; 05-8-2012 at 07:52 PM.. |

Re: League of Legends
Varus feels really friggin awkward to play compared to all the other carries. dunno if its his skillset/animations or a bit of both but he just doesn't suit me. :c
