Re: New Song Artist's Special Batch - Submission Closed
I honestly think Dossar can be a good judge for at least the Hard Songs batch, in my opinion.

Re: New Song Artist's Special Batch - Submission Closed
According to JX - the hard batch was going to have only four judges. I think you'd want to take the judges that scrutinize heavily on chart structure while providing a legitimate stance on how the file feels and whether or not it pushes extremes; etc.
I'd really hope to see at least bmah on the judgment of that batch - bmah packs some pretty decent skill but doesn't show it often, and he's very detailed. I don't know who else is going to be selected, though. @ i like it: not coming anytime soon and that person didn't have to be you =( EDIT: also, the Hard Songs batch was never officially given a date because there was a special circumstance to it even happening. Re: New Song Artist's Special Batch - Submission Closed
In my opinion, I think bmah, samurai7694, Dossar and myself should judge for the hard songs batch but in the end, it's up to Jimerax.

Just realized that I was already put as a primary judge for the Hard Songs batch for when it happens, haha. I'm still up for it, though.

Re: New Song Artist's Special Batch - Submission Closed
It would be cool to see dossar and samurai judge for the hard batch since they are the most experienced and they both have a good understanding of stepping/chart files.

Re: New Song Artist's Special Batch - Submission Closed
Samurai as a judge for the Hard Song Batch, ok.
I'm a bit worried about Dossar though; as far as I kept track of things, I never saw him judging anything yet and the only time he judged/reviewed was for LCP3 or FFRCP3 (I don't remember) giving everything a 0/10 iirc rofl (ya, I figured it could be trollolo) If Alex or moches were still around, I'd suggest them too edit: that http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...7&postcount=57 Last edited by Xayphon; 08-12-2011 at 08:33 PM.. |

Re: New Song Artist's Special Batch - Submission Closed
i'd prefer it if a lesser experienced player could just the hard songs batch (if it ever starts)
i don't want to play a file that dossar thinks is "hard," - that means it'll be "insane" for me :C |

Quote:
One plus to Dossar is that he's played and made so many really fast files that he has a good feel for exactly how hard each pattern is at different speeds. (Of course, in the end it won't matter, since there's nothing in place to make sure that necessary changes to files get made, even though those kind of things are much much more important on difficult charts. Whoever we choose as judges, I worry that there will be a handful of released hard files with random difficulty spikes that almost everyone in the community will complain about.)

Re: New Song Artist's Special Batch - Submission Closed
I guess you haven't seen any of my serious judging - I judged for Rebound's Vibrajacking Packs and gave good reviews there (the notes for his Vibrajacking Pack Finale should still be up on KBO).
Also, I know that judging isn't a right, but a responsibility. I know this from judging those packs Rebound made. Nobody uses that position as some sort of trolling spot to go "hey fuck you for rejecting my files". the closest one to doing something like that was Kory whose notes were invalidated in a batch some time early this year I think, and he wasn't an adequate judge. Also, i love you is right, there really isn't a need to start a discussion about this. If you really think those posts Xayphon included are how I judge files for real, you have some searching to do.

Re: New Song Artist's Special Batch - Submission Closed
How about we all let jimerax decide about who applies for the judge position and who doesn't? Trying to prove your point surely won't win his heart, as far as I know.

Re: New Song Artist's Special Batch - Submission Closed
i love you said it best: don't push drama into this thread. Discuss files you might have sent to the batch, or didn't send to the batch; talk about how you missed your wedding waiting for batch notes - whatever. Just keep the unrest to a minimum, please.
