Re: Ingame Song Information
Gene Gadget Zone Act 1 is a 10, no question about it. 32nds at that BPM and tricky jumpstream sections like that do not belong in a 9.
+ length In fact, I would put it at an 11 before I put it at a 9. (not saying it should be an 11)

Re: Ingame Song Information
+1 Cutting Circles have similar jump patterns. Throw in some 32nds and you have a VC there.

Re: Ingame Song Information
Play State of Emergency then Keep in Mind right after. Same concept.
Things need bumping up, not down.

Re: Ingame Song Information
I think we should swap Cutting Circles and Gene Gadjet in terms of difficulties.

Ugh...wow.
Finally got around to playing Satori v1 after a Youtube-fueled unlock spree (it wasn't through the site, so don't hate). HOLY SHIT, those 24ths in the intro...it's so easy to slip up in them, and even if you get through those, they pop up again for some tricky transition patterns later on. No freaking way is that an 8, even with the long pauses in between. That thing is totally a 9. |

Re: Ingame Song Information
{Satori} is an upper 8, but I don't think it's hard enough to be considered a 9. It's a pretty chill song IIRC.

Re: Ingame Song Information
Gene Gadget Zone is a low 10, considering some of the 10's we have, 68.
Also, sexperation needs to be moved the **** up in placements, how is it anywhere near Wish? It's way harder, put it up by DMYK or something. He's a pirate is fine where it is, fun easy 10, 69 in difficulty. Sigh on the other hand, that's an annoying 10, I'd give it a 71-72 Cinnamon roll, aww man this file is tricky. It has so many bitchy parts, and at such a speed! I hate that 24th trill with such a passion. It's not high, but I'd give it 78-79 (closer to 79) due to the sheer technicality of the file, and somewhat to the length (3:00 is still a bit long)

Re: Ingame Song Information
So why is Gene Gadget Zone still a 9? :/
It's clearly a 10, and isn't really up for argument IMO.

Re: Ingame Song Information
Does anyone else find it funny how Fei Longer is only a 9 but Starlight is a 10?
Fei Longer is a good deal rougher overall (and those frame-fucced jacks at the end, WTF) while starlight's jacks are a lot shorter. |

Also, Variations is an FMO. This is ridiculous, that song gives me fits.

Also I suggest Thrash The Plank become an Otaku Speedvibe [Heavy] unlock at a difficulty 65 and annihilate Famouz from that list of unlocks. We also should find a song to replace Seven due to it being a 64 and not a 65. I suggest AAA if it doesn't already because it's actually harder than a good deal of the unlocks. (TGWPP4 is the one one I'd consider to be harder.) What do you guys think? |

Re: Ingame Song Information
The reason why new songs haven't been added for the [heavy] unlock is because of 1) maintenance of constantly adding songs that fit the required difficulty and 2) song difficulties are a dynamic concept, i.e. they're prone to change. It's the reason why there hasn't been a token since in which a difficulty range has been applied. It's also the reason why the St. Scarhand token is only unlockable by one song, Reality.
You can argue case 1) in that a lot more 11s unlock [oni], but the numerical difficulty scale of 65 hasn't been as well-defined. In all honesty, the limited number of songs to unlock [heavy] was an unforseen consequence. You can try and vouch for more "65" songs to unlock [heavy], but I doubt the reqs will be modified. |

Re: Ingame Song Information
I'm entirely in agreement with Variations 2 being an FMO, but the response given to that notion was "handstream and minijacks are easy." The overall density of the file fits the FMO territory, and it's decently technical, too.
There are some people who find Guitar Sounds deceivingly difficult (and harder than Variations 2, as I do), but I think the difficulty issue lies in the framers, and not the speed of the song itself. Pattern transitions are difficult, but they aren't fast, just difficult to time. I could see Guitar Sounds has a higher 10, but Variations 2 should definitely be in the lower end of the FMO range. EDIT: I can transcribe it from a replay and give you an updated sync, if you'd like. In fact, I can probably handle older, properly colored files in this same manner, as well as a few songs that have sync issues and are newer (Blindfolds Aside, Red Wings Over Baron, etc). Re: Ingame Song Information
Wait, if we want to change the sync of a song by some number of full frames, can't we do that by just changing the level-data in the swf?

Re: Ingame Song Information
You'd have to change each frame of every step. Although, it wouldn't be so bad with this script that was put up for isolation files: http://www.farfallas.com/scripts/shift.php
It's probably much easier for someone like Carlos or myself to use DDream to fix the sync/offsets of certain files. |

But you're right on your points by no doubt. But hey, unless they reword it they need to maintain it as best possible I think(maybe it's just me.) But I was just trying to toss an idea out. |
