Not helping your argument is the fact that several people from countries where English is NOT the primary language get along just fine on our forums. There's a significant difference between making occasional errors because you learned another language first, and just typing like a moron because properly typing out words is some how horribly time-consuming and inconvenient. The latter is what we are trying to prevent. Also, we don't just ban people because they rape English. As has been previously stated, people are warned for certain offenses, and if those people choose to ignore their warning, we ban them. |

I thought you were very frail though, I didn't think you MOD's meant a BIG grammatical period of time which the user has driven. I guess I took it the wrong way. Most people I know from other countries have trouble spelling words like "Weird" and "Friends" so I assumed you banned cause of that, my bad. |

I be damned if Mods ban cause of poor grammar. I know they don't though.

It's never a primary reason.
In my state, you can get a ticket for not having a seatbelt on, but a police officer can't pull you over for that reason. It's a secondary offense. Think about it that way. |

Squeek, could you write this in Spanish please.
It would really help me out, and I am sure you would be very good at picking up a second language if you don't already know one. |

What, you're not going to ask the coauthor who speaks Spanish?
@jessica: possibly. PM me to find out. --Guido http://andy.mikee385.com |

You speak Spanish Guido?
In that case, could you possibly make a Spanish version for an aspiring student? |

Maybe. Direct translation is tough considering how the same words are considered different parts of speech in the two languages. I'll see what I can do, though. I wouldn't expect it any time soon, though. That's a long post and I've got other things to do.

Wait, so, we have to write an entire guide on a language with completely different sets of rules and guidelines?
Mmm... I was only a part of the Spanish language for three years and only to get my high school diploma. I've forgotten everything but the greatest phrase I have ever seen in a school textbook's glossary: "Se lanzo al abismo: To hurl oneself into the abyss" |
