Oh cool and here I was trying to do more complicated stuff lol - it works

Does that mean there's already a file for it in this batch?

Yeah the [12]3[14]3[12] patterns near the end were deliberate to distinguish from the other patterns. It gets pretty dense in some spots, too. I don't have much experience, but would this be harder than 40 measures of 300 bpm 16ths with index patterns?

Nah. The file does not look enjoyable to play for a tourney or as a file on FFR; especially considering the easy intro. It's hard enough, yes, but FFR splits jumps, you have minute+ length of 24ths where you could break it up and runningmen patterns galore (there's a ton). Playability of a file is something that's subjective but need to be concerned about.

Honestly, your patterns look like you didn't put any actual effort into making them make sense. Sometimes you minijack it the way it should be, and a lot of other times you don't. And then on top of that your stream used jumps on quarters (34 in the part I really looked at) and kind of camps it for no reason really.

Also, yeah, you're gonna wanna cut this regardless if it's a tourney chart. I love longer charts and that one would be too much of a chore to be enjoyed at it's current length, even for me.

Pretty much this. Your chart has little to absolutely no replay value. I hardly watched the video the whole way through.

But that's just what I think though.

Sadly the choices I made are limited to the song. I really hate leaving empty sounds, especially when the song was created solely to have the long 1 minute stream.

The [12]3[14]3[12] patterns were actually originally [12]3[12]4 and [13]2[13]4 but I found those a lot harder to hit compared to the ones in the current version.

I didn't know about the jump splitting. Does that mean hands and quads register each arrow by itself?

edit: dw i'm not taking offense to this. i need feedback in order to get better at this, and this is helping me. i guess i could resubmit later if i want.

Not for the hard songs batch -- DarkChrysalis stepped it for my Nero's Day at ITGland pad pack.

You can break it up at the chorus parts, really. I know the 24ths are still there but it gives a break and doesn't force you to do 12th jumpjacks within the 24ths

Patterns can get icky with 24ths since it's jump-arrow-arrow repeat (in other terms, it's syncopated jumpstream at 1.5x bpm) so you just have to crunch away and get picky. Pattern choices is tough at times (especially hard songs where patterns can make a huge difference.)

And you're right about the jumps part, each arrow is its own arrow in FFR. It isn't linked to any other arrow. If you hit a left with a left+down jump, you get a combo and points for the left and a miss for the down. This carries over to hands and quads. A minor issue with hands (and even greater with quads) is that some keyboards can only register 2-3 keys; mostly stock/laptop/non-fancy keyboards. Fancy ones can hit like 4-6 or more. Most of the time, people split hands/quads from keyboards interpreting the key presses and creates lag-presses (meaning you can hit all 4 keys at once but the keyboard response will be like (123)+4 etc.) Almost all people that play these files don't have these problems but it's more of a fyi, it's mostly about the huge splitting case in FFR.
