I got my Logitech Ultra X today, and well... let's just say I'm not very happy.

This is what all of my scores are looking like now. MA is astronomically better, but I'm getting dropped holds/taps everywhere, and it's likely because I'm using a PS/2 -> USB converter to use the keyboard on my laptop. If I had my desktop and connected this keyboard directly to the PS/2 port that I have on there, I guarantee that I would be quadding things left and right. *sigh*

EDIT: Well, looking at Test Input in SM, I did find something out. I wonder if I can use this to troubleshoot my way to a solution...

EDIT: for the love of fucking god someone help me (this is cetaka's version)

Isn't that the kind of quality you'd expect using a ps/2 -> USB converter?

I hadn't used it before, so I was really hopeful that it wouldn't have massive input issues, but apparently I was wrong. My MA is insane, but I'm having a strange input issue that I discovered when in test input.

Here's another score:

Anyway, when going into Test Input, I discovered something really strange and I'm wondering if it's an issue with the keyboard or if it has something to do with the interface (or even worse, the USBs on my computer, which is quite possible to be honest). In the Test Input menu of StepMania, I held down up to five keys, and pressed another one after holding the previous one. Using my set-up:

held DF, held J, then released J - result: DF would release as well.
held ASDJK, then L, then released L - result: ALL other keys dropped.

I'm not sure why this happens, but I'm trying to look into the issue. It's really frustrating getting insane MA because of this awesome keyboard, but not getting good scores due to either the keyboard or the interface. I hope to be able to troubleshoot this, though. -________-

I also now understand why Luis' scores are so good, I mean... I haven't played SM seriously in at least five months. I'd say those are pretty good scores.

EDIT: @ ilikexd: I used to post in here a lot when I had regular access to a laptop who's stock keyboard was halfway decent for SM -- I lost that computer, and then ended up with a really good stock eMachines keyboard that allowed me to get the previous WR for cetaka's RATO, which was since taken back my oldCartoon... now I'm using the same keyboard that samurai7694 has, and fucking hell it is absolutely amazing.

Honestly AJ I dunno if there's gonna be much you can do running through a converter.

The best suggestion I can make is look through craigslist to see if anyone is giving away free desktop computers in your area to turn into an SM slave.

It's looking like your MA is taking a HUGE step in the right direction, those scores are all fucking sick (enigma is blowing my mind hardcore), for now you might just have to ignore your misscounts, I know I will.

Yeah, I might do just that.

I actually do have a desktop that got left behind in Chicago, so I'll just nudge my dad to shift it a bit earlier. Sucks that this keyboard is going to be absolutely useless for me on FFR, though -______-

EDIT: haha fuck.

more:

really fun file, haha -- can get better PA for sure; really bombed the first big set of runningmen, but nearly quadded the second big set

quad-bait?

What kind of MA do you think I could get on this? The misses aren't me at all, I'm having input issues because of the PS/2 -> USB converter, haha.
