It would be better to use the absolute value for the distance from average so that it's easier to see who will be eliminated.
Then it makes it harder to see how far the median has dropped or increased. This has been mentioned before, and I'm not going to use it.
The mentality shifts from staying close to the center to staying above the line.
There's more urgency in staying close to the center, because there's a bit of ambiguity from not being able to outright see all the eliminations. For these kinds of decisions, just go along with it. =P

That is what I do in my own spreadsheet. If you want to set up your own for tracking purposes then put
=ABS(E18-$E$2)
in the cell, where E18 is whichever row the person's total is in, E is the column the average is in, and 2 is the row the average is in. The $ signs make it an absolute reference so if you sort everyone's scores by distance you do not lose your reference point.

No matter what tournament you play it's likely you're going to come across something you don't like or are very bad at. If you want to get into the competitive side of FFR you need to learn how to deal with and overcome these songs/charts.

I saw your posts and I understand the reasoning.
For me it makes more sense to sort it that way, and I am just explaining how for anyone else who wants to be able to sort it that way in their own spreadsheets. No worries, I am not trying to tell you how to run your tournament.
