Re: hi19hi19's Delicious Custom Theme Tournament
So after doing all three scoring types I had two credits left over.
These went to qqwref for being an awesome co-host Thanks a lot for all your help man, much appreciated. I hope you enjoyed this as much as I did! I also sent sticklydude 35k from my own pocket for being really cool with being moved a division in the middle of the tournament. Thanks for being such a good sport dude, this is the least I can do to show my appreciation. Okay the main questions I wanted to ask were: Did you actually find the PMs I sent for the start of the first few rounds useful? -and- Now that you see the final results, what scoring type(s) do you prefer for a tournament of this structure and difficulty? EDIT- ALSO! I will be finishing the pack of files used in this tournament as soon as possible. Really I'm stuck, because I want the files to have decent graphics but I suck at making graphics. I've been learning but it's a slow process. I'll be finishing that task up as soon as I can. If this thread is locked before I finish, you'll be able to find the pack in the Stepmania forum when it's ready to be released!

Re: hi19hi19's Delicious Custom Theme Tournament
I found it to be pretty useful. Also I prefer cumulative scoring. Better room for comeback, but it might cause a lot of unfairness to people who did really well for the first 6 rounds and then got annihilated at the last round for tournaments (Brutality-themed) like this.
All in all very nice tournament, I really love tournaments like these, non-AAA fest tourneys. |

Re: hi19hi19's Delicious Custom Theme Tournament
Yes the PMs were helpful since I almost forgot about the tournament until I got an email saying you messaged me.
And I actually really like how you did all three types of scoring since it ended up with basically everybody getting credits which is cool. It would've been impossible to do this if you hadn't of had the over 3,000,000 credit pot though so it's a good thing people were so generous. Only thing bad about this way is having so much to do all at the end, unless you get the individual round scores out of the way each time a round ends. Basically, this tournament was awesome and host another one soon |

But I will probably wait about 4 months for two reasons: the first is that Jae put me on the "bad boy list" for taking too long to do the credits so I can't hold another tournament for a few months until my time-out is over. Also the more practical reason is I'm busy as hell and these things take a lot of work haha. If someone else wants to run the tournament for me with my files feel free to PM me lmao, otherwise maybe this autumn Thanks jake and Eze for the comments, anyone else feel free to chip in too! Part of the reason I did all three scoring types was an experiment so I'd really like to know what people think about that.

Re: hi19hi19's Delicious Custom Theme Tournament
I think tournament points is a good system to use, it makes it so the earlier rounds have an equal weight compared to the later rounds, since the difference in scores for the early rounds are usually so minute. Anyways, thanks for the credz, 10/10, would join again. :3
As for the reminder pm's, I usually kept up with the thread myself, but I still think they are useful anyways, especially for the people that don't keep up with tourney threads. |

Re: hi19hi19's Delicious Custom Theme Tournament
I think I got more credits on side games than on the actual tournament ._.
It was fun though! Great files, and good competition within the division.

Re: hi19hi19's Delicious Custom Theme Tournament
I really enjoyed this tournament. Out of the few tournaments I've done, this has definitely been my favorite. I liked all of the files (even Freefall :P ) even though at the time they were really hard for me. It was a nice mix and didn't focus too much on any one skillset. I actually went back and played all of them and supped my scores by huge amounts so it's cool to see how much my skill has changed since then. Thanks for hosting a great tournament!
Edit: The PMs were a nice reminder, especially since I forgot about Round 3... >.< Also, I think I prefer tournament points because in the later levels when difficulties really spike the difference in points can easily overwhelm any hard work you may have put in on the earlier rounds because the scores will be so different. Thanks for (finally ;P) distributing the credits. I honestly loved the rivalry in this tournament and the songs were amazing! It gave myself and possibly others some major skillboosts.
You can count on me joining your next one <3 |

Re: hi19hi19's Delicious Custom Theme Tournament
I think the PM's at the start of a round are very useful. For people participating in multiple tourneys at once, this is a great way to keep up with everything.
As for scoring types: I think I prefer tournament points. With cumulative you can get absolutely screwed on one round (as kinda happened in D1 on Freefall), making the rest of the tourney useless. The credits based on individual rounds is a nice addition, but should not be the main scoring type of a tourney, because it removes any suspense over multiple rounds. I really liked this tournament, best one I've participated in ever. Props! |

Re: hi19hi19's Delicious Custom Theme Tournament
I think he was counting the credits from the first Spon Con? Those were not from the pot.
idk... I overshot which is much better than having undershot haha I'm okay with a few extra thousand out of my own pocket, as long as it isn't the other way around. Also yeah Eze and alloyus was pretty funny to watch. OWA and Opkiller put up really strong scores too, I actually think D5B was the closest of all the divisions!

Also counted the 35K credits you send to sticklydude so if we remove that, you get 3,734,501 credits total (a difference by 4,501). |

LOL and i think that it'd be better to just do one scoring type in the future. You're right though, it's tough when it's the beginning rounds and you're fighting for a 20 point difference, and then drop 500 on the last song...
