Re: NHL Playoffs Predictions (Credit Giveaway)
Boy I really missed a lot from being at Chicago all weekend - Vancouver leading series 3-1, Bruins tied at 2-2. But I can't wait to watch the next two games tonight and tomorrow night.

Re: NHL Playoffs Predictions (Credit Giveaway)
Early start by T-Bay countered by an astounding second period by the Bruins. Topped with the best save of this season. Boston takes the game 3-1 and are now one win away from a Finals berth.

Re: NHL Playoffs Predictions (Credit Giveaway)
Oh man, some brutal hits in that game. Bodies falling to the ice everywhere. One gripe I had about that game was the ref calling offsides on the Lightning when it was his damn skate that stopped the puck from crossing the line first.
It was explained to me later that the referee is considered part of the field like in football, but if you ask me, it's funnier when the ref in the secondary finds himself being employed as an extra blocker. |

Re: NHL Playoffs Predictions (Credit Giveaway)
A series of penalties, come backs, shots, funny bounces, strange goals, and players playing through injuries just to make their contribution count, but a great series. This final game played like pre-lock out hockey with all the neutral zone battles. But, that series winning goal proves you cannot defeat a team of destiny. My team is done, but I hope the best for the Canucks.

Re: NHL Playoffs Predictions (Credit Giveaway)
Yeah. Save of the year, no doubt.
On to more recent occurances, HOLY EFF, THE CANUCKS ARE GOING TO THE STANLEY CUP FINALS!! I'm sorry, but seeing as I was 2-and-a-half last time they did it, this is like a brand new experience for me. My head was hurting all throughout overtime. A quick Sedin-Sedin magic turned into a beauty Burrows goal halfway through the first, but the Sharks answer back in the second off of a Marleau deflection. Makes you wonder if Kesler didn't pull up lame, would it have gone in? Third period rolls around, and Luongo loses a gamble and Setoguchi makes no mistake 24 seconds into the third. Cue crunch time: goalie pulled, icing against the Sharks, and Kesler, lame leg and all, wins the draw and gets in front of the net to tip a Henrik Sedin shot (what a rarity!) past Niemi with 14 seconds to play. One overtime solves nothing, and it takes a dump-in that hits a bracket and lands where only one man sees it, and he almost flubbed it. Point is, he didn't and Kevin Bieksa scores his 4th of the series (this is a D-man too. What the deuce) and sends the Vancouver Canucks to their 3rd Finals appearance, and become the first Canadian team to reach the Finals twice after the last Canadian team to win a Cup (Montreal - 1993). History. 18 years since the Cup was brought back to Canada. Many attempts have been made by other teams to get it back. 1994 - Vancouver 2004 - Calgary 2006 - Edmonton 2007 - Ottawa Now, cue 2011 - Vancouver gets a second chance at it. Will this be their year? Will 40 years of nothing finally show something? Will Vancouver live up to the tradition of hosting an Olympics and then winning the President's Trophy and the Cup the next year? PS. Check it. It happened both other times. Montreal in 1977 and Calgary in 1989 after they hosted Olympics in 1976 and 1988 respectively. Last words, great series, San Jose. Many games could've gone your way, and I am unashamed to say you definitely outplayed Vancouver, but thank you, God, for sending my boys back to the Finals. Also, Quote:
Also, one last edit. Out of the 11 participants in this round, the record was: 9-2. Like I said earlier, the only people who picked the Sharks were Canuck haters and Shark fans. Better luck next time. Last edited by T-Force; 05-25-2011 at 02:30 AM.. |

Wow, alright, game 7 it is!
Checked the highlights. TB pulled some really sweet goals tonight. They deserved the win. They kept the pressure during powerplays, got it done. This'll be a VERY interesting game 7. Last edited by MaxGhost; 05-26-2011 at 04:39 AM.. |

Re: NHL Playoffs Predictions (Credit Giveaway)
Even though Krejci pots a hat trick, Tampa pulled too far ahead too quickly and Vancouver gets to wait even longer to find out their opponent. Friday night, we shall know.
