Re: 7th Official FFR Tournament
Doesn't make a difference since I'm not in the tournament, but I play on Legacy with no issues currently but lag miserably on even that link you just posted, Velo. (not a post saying 'switch to legacy', just stating that i still lag on that new link too)

Re: 7th Official FFR Tournament
I agree with no extensions, and I'd be saying this even if I was one of the ones experiencing major lag issues. A week is more than enough time to try and optimize your machine if necessary, or play around with different flash players. Something has to work because some of us are lagging, others are not.
for the record, I use flash 8.

Re: 7th Official FFR Tournament
Gonna bust out a passing score later. I know I can do it, just got a new best (10 clean, watch out jae ) on my second try but now I gotta go out for a while XD
Edit - Ooh, seems it's not saving to the dashboard from your engine with just the tournament songs on? My levelranks say 102 55 Baby Still Too Fat 1,641,800* 1051 10 0 0 0 1061 137 But the dashboard still has me as 11-0-0-1! Last edited by wildfireskunk; 07-26-2012 at 08:33 AM.. |

Re: 7th Official FFR Tournament
CBR: while it might look a minority, a larger issue at hand is the fact that a good majority of the people trying to play weren't having these lag issues before (myself, One Winged Angel, Dossar, ~Zeta~, and these are just the people I thought of at the top of my head while only being awake for 27 minutes). If the game was in playable condition and suddenly becomes unbearable/unplayable, it's something that certainly needs to be taken care of.
I happen to be a person that's lucky enough to adapt to things very quickly, so switching to R^2 made a huge difference and I've been playing on it ever since. |

Re: 7th Official FFR Tournament
Yeah I feel lucky that I played on the Legacy engine for years before finally switching to the Velocity engine. So switching back to the Legacy engine was pretty easy for me. I feel pretty bad for those who can't adjust to a new engine and I know what it's like for them when I try playing on the R^2 engine because I suck so bad on that engine. If I were one of those people though I would be constantly whoring on a new engine while the lag continues on the Velo engine because who knows if you'll get the chance to play on the Velo engine this round. It may be unfair but all you can do right now is try your best at getting adjusted to a new engine. Complaining won't get it done any faster.

Re: 7th Official FFR Tournament
I've always played standalone on flash9 because for me it was less laggy, but after this lag came about and I noticed dossar saying it was taking up 50% usage for him I look at mine and flash 9 is always over 40% which 10 and 11 are under 15%. Even though it cleared up the choppy arrows, I'm still getting input lag however.

Re: 7th Official FFR Tournament
Maybe this will help people on win7 or vista machines. whether it be standalones, direct swfs or what have you. this is the exact setup that allows me to play on ffr now.
I use legacy engine, but velocity and r^2 both work fine right now. Before you use this, make sure you save your fappy little theme for your desktop, because this seems to wipe some theme preferences for me, and i have to reset the theme when i turn aero back on. This will make your machine look like win95 pretty much too...but it helps a shitton. 1. Windows + r (or click run. there, happy powerfull?!?1?!?) 2. type sysdm.cpl 3. go to advanced 4. under preformance, hit settings 5. click the radio button "adjust for best performance" Still not working, download gamebooster and try that, rerun your engine after boosting. STILL not working, try running task manager and setting the process affinity running flash to 1 core for multicore processors. i also personally find IE to work best with the legacy engine, but the velo or r^2 work fine with standalones, as well as in IE. Take a huge shit on your pc if none of these things worked. |
