Re: World of Warcraft
For anyone still interested in WoW, here's a recent developer post comfirming they are adding an in-game cash shop where you can straight up buy more chances at loot (via Lesser Charms).
I'm not trolling. http://manaflask.com/en/articles/are...ficial-details

Re: World of Warcraft
you wouldn't actually get any more than you would otherwise
you just pay money to save yourself the 5 and a half minutes it takes to farm 50 charms a week |

"well you're just paying to save 5 minutes killing things for charms" "well you're just paying to save 10 minutes farming ore and herbs" "well you're just paying to save 20 minutes killing a world boss for that one low tier purple" "well you're just paying to save 60 minutes raiding" Blizzard has been very adamant about not being able to buy gear EVER in their game and to see them going back on that policy is kinda funny. Yes you are just buying the chance at more gear, but still. Buying 10% more gear is still buying more gear.

Re: World of Warcraft
yea but until the game goes complete p2w or wildstar comes out and doesnt suck it's still going to be far and away the best end game pve oriented raiding game out there
i mean you can cash shop gear in rift already and there's games out there like allods where you can literally drop 20,000 usd on items that allow you to wipe entire raids by yourself so im not sure what the huge deal is but i guess since i never played pre-mop i don't hold any specific reverences for "what used to be" or any specific idealism about "what should be" i've heard a lot of people complain about the current talent system replacing the old skill tree and how it removes customization and makes the game stale and dumbed down and shit but realistically when you have a skill tree what ends up happening is you simply mathematically calculate the most efficient path through the tree and everyone uses that same build ex. rift: played a cleric, if you wanted to melee you go 61/10/5 sha/dru/inq or you were trash, if you wanted to ranged theres another cookie cutter tree but if you went inquisitor you were automatically trash because it was 10% behind shaman and even wanting to play it made you trash actually just playing shaman dps in general made you fucking bad because clerics were 5-10% behind every other class in the game in dps but I was 2nd in our raid so anyway everyone uses the same 2 macros for their spec and the difference between theory and execution is practically nil unless you have severe dyslexia i mean i can literally regurgitate my shaman rotation from memory because i pressed the same 7 buttons in the same order on every fight the only difference being the number of targets deciding whether or not i used my macro with an aoe filler skill at the bottom of the priority list z->3->3->4->1->a2 off gcd->2->1->2->1->2->1->2->1->-2->1->3->1->3 but im not here to write a rift shaman guide my point is that i'd rather change 3-4 talents on a per fight basis than spend 2 hours mathing out a skill tree and pressing the same buttons for 3 months of raiding tl;dr don't get me wrong the game has tons of deficiencies and issues but getting all up in arms about bad people being able to buy lesser charms so they can bonus roll lfr bosses and still be bad with 10% more gear than they would have if they didnt afk in barrens for 10 minutes in a 40 man charm farming raid is whipping the wagon not the horse, and that nostalgia for previous systems don't mean they're necessarily the best systems Last edited by MinaciousGrace; 07-10-2013 at 07:48 AM.. |

Re: World of Warcraft
Yeah WoW is still going to be the biggest and most successful MMO for a while longer, this isn't going to magically make the game bad instantly and I'm not implying that.
What I am implying is that the WoW team has gone against their stated core values in probably the most impressive way yet and that's interesting/worrying/funny.

Re: World of Warcraft
it'd be an issue if you were able to buy lesser charms outright or if the "chances at extra loot" gave you so many charms you were able to buy multiple pieces off one drop
the only people who would use this are progression raiders, and baddies who get carried every week, and the distinction between them is... pretty big lmao but yeah it's just blizzard being... blizzard

Re: World of Warcraft
I'm still alive. Still play WoW. Still on a private WotLK server. Best expansion
I'd like to get 100k honorable kills by the end of the year, but that would require 400 kills a day. I don't know if I can keep that up Last edited by Rebirth0; 07-15-2013 at 02:30 AM.. |
