No, the middle is gone (look at it from the side, not at the jewel). He means the hole.

There's still a geometrical center.

This probably isn't what you're thinking of, but I know of one thing that fits the description. In geometry, a line matches what you described (as opposed to a segment or a ray).

The women are a grandmother and her daughter.

No one said the grand-daughter (the daughter of the mother, who is the daughter of the grandmother) had to be there!

If anyone likes visual logic puzzles, there is a test here containing 48 extremely hard ones:

http://news.generiq.net/SLSE48/slse48test.html

The average person won't be able to solve any of them. They can be figured out from what is given, so you should know when you have the solution.

Average mensa member might be able to get 6-7 of them.

I'm so proud of me. I got 4 right that I'm positive on, and 5 I think I got right, but probably only one was correct out of the 5.

I would love to know the answers.
I believe I got around 9 right.
I could be wrong.

The answers arn't available partially because the test is actually some sort of competition/pseudo IQ test where people can submit their answers to whoever made the test and have it evaluated.

I do know quite a few of the answers, though. Specifically 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, 11 13, 16, 17, 19...so if you can pm me or something.

More visual-spatial puzzle tests:

http://www.bergmandata.com/indexg.htm

(It's probably best you keep your scores to yourself. However, this one will tell you how many you get right).

I think that is the original of mine. I couldn't remember the original, so I made the other one up.

I have the answer but for the sake of the riddle I will not post.

You replaced all vowels with "E" and the consonants "S", "T", and "H" with the letter "R".

It reads: Can you tell what is wrong with this paragraph? At first glance you may think that just the vowels have problems, but no! Three consonants also have problems, they have been replaced with the letter R, but which ones are they?

Mash them.
That is, mash the potatoes, not the children.

Another test...since I like tests. I found this while looking around the net earlier for puzzles/brain food. So instead of working on my stats work and psychology assignment I did this.

http://www.forms.ge/iq1.htm

Based on the culture fair military test...which is based on primarily the catell culture fair and ravens APM tests. Tests fluid intelligence.

Scores are reported in standard deviation 24, though, so scores seem higher than they really are. 150 on this test is approimately a mensa qualifying score, or the 98th percentile (mensa uses a similar test, except with 36 questions and no colors). There's also a 60 minute time limit on the mensa test, so spending more than 25 minutes on this is probably hax ;D
