Friday August 21st,

Dear Journal,

We have been trekking all day with our unnamed guide through the dense mess of the jungle. God knows how anyone can memorize such a complicated landscape.

While our trek was relatively unproblematic, it did have it's share of oddities.

A few hours ago during a break me and Brooks started hearing this strange noise coming from somewhere in the dense plants. This noise soon turned to something almost alarming, like a cry for help, or of desperation. Brooks also noted that she was speaking Japanese. Thank god he always read those manga books as a youth.

Brooks said he would go and try to find the source of the noise.

I stayed with the native as Brooks disappeared into the jungle, and after he didn't return for 15 minutes, I began to worry.

However, just at that moment, Brooks came back through the plant life grasping an asian girl of our age.

After an interrogation of some sorts, we found a very interesting piece of information:

Whenever Brooks would touch her arm, '20031023 AAA' would appear. However, when I touched her arm' '20031023 1-0-0-1 would appear. She also had a slip of paper with her that read:

We are not sure what is the cause of this, or what the image on the paper means, but we decided to let her tag along, as she seemed just as harmless as the native.

God this place just keeps getting weirder and weirder.
