![]() Wow... This turned out to be quite the thread last night, even after I passed out. Thank you to all the people who purchased through mobile last night and sorry about t-mobile and verizon not working. We are going to work on finding a new service that supports both of those. I know one of them that atleast supports t-mobile. Also, when Mal finishes the paypal version, we will post this on the main page.
I think the idea and intent here is genuine with the album sales. Now let's take it one more step forward. Let's say we acquire some artist that has some obscene amount of friends on MySpace.. T.I. (purely for example) has 1.9 million friends on myspace and lets imagine he advertises that if people go to blahblahbuysong.php, they can purchase his album and or 10 customized levels of his song. T.I.'s management gets a cut and that is that. Good idea? Thoughts? Should we pursue? Cheers, Synthlight |

Absurd

![]() i think thats a VERY good idea.
marketing mainstream artists through the internet is a fast way to get their name spread about. People will want there music so will most likely buy it. FFR wins because it will get more money in as well as more new users. and the artist will win because it will push their name to another marketing area that has gone untapped so far for them. And that would be sweet if you guys did find a service that did cover verizon and t mobile(ME!! THIS IS MEE ![]() |

![]() Synth, I like the idea of FFR doing this kinda stuff... But, to tell you the truth, wouldn't music sales be better off done through Rithum instead?
EDIT: And you don't know how much I can't wait to try this mobile thing... Even though I've read now that it doesn't work in Canada yet >_>

![]() I certainly don't see why not. The consumer would get their music and FFR songs, you'd get your share to help the site's funding situation, the artist would get more publicity, AND it's got an incredibly convenient delivery process. Not to mention the large potential membership gain through it, which could lead to further revenue with potential subbies.
Sounds like a perfect plan to me ![]() |

![]() Twilight, it does work in Canada and about 130 other countries. It all depends on the carrier that you have. It's pretty simple, if you try it and it doesn't send you a code then it doesn't work.

Hey, when I try to reply to 76001 it tells me it can't send the message and to be sure that I used a correct 10 digit number... Eh, I'm on Alltel if that is the problem. My phone is the Blackberry Curve. I hope it's not due to that.

![]() Cool idea. As long as the token isn't a requirement for tier points, I approve of this. I can't wait to see what will come in the future.

![]() I'm a bit confused, you buy it with your phone, but is a CD shipped, or mp3's to dl to your box, or are they added to your phone? also how does buying this give you the token if the page you buy it on is on another site? (not saying it doesn't just asking how)
edit: also will this become something similar to dlc songs on games like gh, where "packs" of songs will be used for dl rather than a singular step file along with the artist's songs? Last edited by OnixRose; 08-7-2008 at 12:08 PM.. |

![]() I like the idea of selling ffr artist albums, but I dont like the idea of purchasing a token. What if you have semi stuck up parents who dont want to but this for you?
What those people going to do, not play a song that is out? Im going to be honest, I hope there isn't a crap load of these going to set in the tokens. I approve the selling of albums, I dont aprove of buying the token (even though it is included) Would it be to much to let subscribers just have the token? Just a suggestion, if not thats fine. ![]() Reason I suggested this... We did pay to get our subscription.

I still like the idea of selling FFR Albums, I just don't support the idea of only way to get this new token is basically buying it.

![]() MrMagic, the token would be there as a thank you or a bonus to show that you supported that album and FFR. I am open to all kinds of ideas here.. Maybe we don't include specialized tokens at all and just do straight album sales. It would save some work and cost on our part. It would be one less level we have to create for each product we sell.

![]() Right now, our thank you for supporting FFR is getting a non laggy game engine, and songs before the come out, and few small Subscriber features such as beta level reader, token levels ranks etc... Im not trying to give off a bad vibe saying im not happy with subscriber features, in all, im very pleased with what we have now. But I can deal with waiting for the songs.
I would just really like this token to be available to all subscribers. Its just my opinion. Final decision is always up to you. What it may end up being, I can deal with it ![]()

![]() A lot of money would be generated this way...tokentards, etc.
I'm not calling you a tokentard, MrMagic...I was about to post this regardless of your posting. But it's the truth. |
