Re: The Fitness Thread
I refer to how some people only stick to eggs whites/some stick to having both whites but yolks in moderation/some don't give a shit and eat the white with its corresponding yolk etc

Re: The Fitness Thread
There's a ton of cholesterol in egg yolks, so I awlays only put one or two in an omlette that has 4 or 5 egg whites.

Re: The Fitness Thread
ah. i'm pretty sure it's all good.
solidly in the not giving a shit camp right here. yolks have nutritional benefits, anyway. if you are exercising regularly, should be okay. maybe get cholesterol checked, and be wary if you have issues. |

Why would you want that much cholesterol from just eggs? Imagine if you had an omelette or something with 4 or 5 eggs...yeah. |

I love oatmeal, it is filling as hell though. So it can get tough to eat it all.

My blood cholesterol is very low (have had my blood tested recently). Dietary cholesterol is NOT directly associated with blood cholesterol in healthy individuals. Vascular inflammation is necessary in order for cholesterol to form plaques in your body. If you're healthy you should not be worried about dietary cholesterol from egg yolks. You need cholesterol to survive. Without it, you're dead. Your body produces lots of it naturally. Many people easily produce over 1000 mg natural cholesterol every day. When you increase dietary cholesterol, your body decreases cholesterol production. Unless you're downing a dozen eggs every damn day or have other health complications that can affect cholesterol levels, it's never going to affect your blood cholesterol significantly. Eggs once or twice a week is seriously harmless. The science and the absolute verdict on this matter is still up in the air but imo the real bad guy; obesity, diabetes, refined carbohydrates. Screw egg yolks. If you want a one way ticket to dead city, that's certainly one way.

Re: The Fitness Thread
It seems like these come in tandem, no? Easy to be obese when you're nomming down empty calories from refined carbs, which can develop diabetes.
For the past week or so I've been having 2-3 eggs a day... might be overdoing it but eh. |
