Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
That did it.
Just got the Jyk trophy for 20 boss battle character victories. Got the "You got all the Subspace Emissary trophies!" announcement. Edit: rofl. I've never played multiplayer with the Wii Remote before. When you pick your character, they do a little voiceover via the wiimote speaker. Edit 2: As I was talking with Chardish about KO farming, I got to thinking. And I tried more and more things and came up with this. Make a CD factory. You know, 2 conveyors going right into a 2x2 block that has another conveyor going left above it with High Sandbags only as the item switch. Instead of just standing your enemy on that block, bring out three of any guy (hopefully you have more than one gamecube controller and hopefully the one you use for Bowser has a turbo button) and put them all on 300% handicap and 2.0x damage on a Timed match of any length you feel like not playing for. Pause the match once Bowser's in place. Unplug each controller one by one and hold up on the control stick when you plug them back in. This sets the default position to down, which makes them drop from the respawn platform on their own. You'll get stickers, CDs, kills (30-40 every minute), and play time. Whoo~ Edit 3: Hammer'd open the Hours requirements that I could (50 and 100). That got me the last CD! So I just got the KK Slider trophy done too. The 30 hour requirement has a hammer in it, so I doubt they'll let me hammer that. Besides, with all the grinding, I think I'm kinda close now. Current count: 353 trophies, 639 stickers. 190 trophies, 61 stickers left. Last edited by Squeek; 03-29-2008 at 04:24 AM.. |

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
Actually, the concept of a CD factory has been discussed at SWF quite a bit. I made a simple one for one player in like three minutes. It's just two conveyors leading into a crevice with a conveyor there. Sandbags that fall into the stage will drop in. I just use Yoshi's d-tilt in the conveyor crevice since it has set knockback and won't send the Sandbags flying. I also have a little side platform for the second player to stand on.
It works even better if you play Special Brawl with Giant and Fast on. High Gravity also helps a bit.

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
Special Brawls don't count toward your Records. They might be good for CDs and stickers, but KOs (and playtime?) won't count.
My method knocks out four requirements as fast as possible. |

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
yeah I know I hate when you play against four ppl cuz then it gets really laggy which is really gay but sometimes it works but not all the time

I've found that the worst causes for lag though are stages with elements that need to be synced up with each system. Final Destination has nothing going on, but Mushroomy Kingdom does. Yeah, that's right, even scrolling can amplify received lag. Things like that Pokemon stage where everything goes crazy can be WAY worse too. ps Squeek, that's lame; practically cheating. Oh and by the way, I have more total trophies than you without even really trying rofl You do have me bested in stickers, but I'll chalk that up to your spending way more time in SSE than me. |

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
It's lame, but it's nowhere near cheating.
I have no way of getting the KO / Hour count myself. All of my friends are out of the state and they all hate Super Smash Bros. |

I have somewhere in the neighborhood of 450 trophies or so. Also, I saw a vid on Youtube showing somepone using a CD factory with one Wavebird hooked up to four recievers and using four Yoshis on a custom stage then constant d-tilting sandbags in conveyored crevices. It was rather amusing.

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
Why not simply plug in four controllers, and do a one stock match in FD with no items and let the Wii sit all night? That'd get you about 40 hours right there.
Edit: 369 trophies, ~520 stickers. I need to get all of the character trophies for Classic and All star, and then I need to beat 100-man with everybody, etc etc etc.

And you know, my friends aren't all that interested in Brawl either. My best shot is my sister's husband, but he's not around here all that often and it's a lot of trouble because of the distance. But! You can always do what I've been doing: run CPU matches in Brawl. I think online matches might even count, although I'm not entirely sure about that.

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
So racking up hours and KOs without actually playing is much less "cheating" than racking up hours and KOs without actually playing.
It all makes sense to me now. |

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
great i finally beated boss battle mode on intense.. is actually easier if you rest a bit from boss to boss.
and i think i'll leave CD/sticker/KO/hour count to the last of my challenges because (even though is not cheating is just a trick) i just wanna take more time with this game i don't want to get 100% slowly and continue enjoying it because seriously is my favorite game. but if by the time i finish all other challenges then i guess i'll use the CD/sticker trick and play with my friends ofr KO/hour count or heck even playing with the CPU is fine... and if online KOs/hours count then even better. (that way i can't whine about my friends only coming over on weekends) Last edited by zidart; 03-30-2008 at 01:04 AM.. |
