Re: Funmonkey54 and kjwkjw's un-FFRly Tournament
we didn't share answers.... he asked me for a hint privately, and i gave him one. so if i need a hint on one down the road that he knows, he'll give it to me. reciprocity.
yes.... need new round. must max another round.

ok. I thought you meant you flat out told him the answer. sorry.
kjwkjw does seem to be awfully inactive. And lastly, the new round is on the 11th (tomorrow). I already have the games picked out for the whole tournament. I am just waiting on the mental challenges. |

Re: Funmonkey54 and kjwkjw's un-FFRly Tournament
Sorry. There WILL be times when I lack. (with HW, essays and such XP) Just remember that I won't forget about this tourney haha. But where is that much to update if people aren't that active either lol.
And also, I will only provide hints for mentals that no one has been able to answer by the end of a round...which hasn't happened yet. That tells me I need better mentals =P EDIT: Scores have been updated. Please...stop complaining. CURRENTLY....Tass is winning with a max score of 10,050 (...) and jon is trailing close with around 9,400 points.

Re: Funmonkey54 and kjwkjw's un-FFRly Tournament
i wouldn't say that you need harder mentals.... i'd say that you need mentals that are slightly more obvious in what the object of the puzzle is. right now, the puzzles themselves aren't very hard, just figuring out what to do with the puzzle in the first place is challenging. round 1 mental 1 was straightforward, round 2 mental 3 was straightforward. the rest were more of "figure out what i'm asking... then it's simple. otherwise, you're FUBAR'd"

Re: Funmonkey54 and kjwkjw's un-FFRly Tournament
True. It really is about either having an idea of where to start from previous experience... or just from an ability to think outside the box and come up with the exact same thought as the puzzle creator. I mean, it's really just a different type of puzzle... instead of the goal being to solve the puzzle, the goal is to figure out how to solve the puzzle. Which is a puzzle by itself.
*shrugs* Doesn't really matter to me... I can solve both.

Re: Funmonkey54 and kjwkjw's un-FFRly Tournament
But honestly, you people solve those token riddles lol. I can't even figure out where to start for some of them, and comparatively speaking, my mentals are probably easier to get where to go from.

I'm dropping out. This has really just lost my interest.
Good luck to all the participants.

Are you sure? You may get some credits for participation; it's not just first place that gets prizes...

Re: Funmonkey54 and kjwkjw's un-FFRly Tournament
for round 3 mental 2.... if 2xy=14, you'll have to use imaginary numbers, which i assume is therefore incorrect? it would seem like 2xy should equal 12, not 14. although if that is the case, you will have 2 possible solutions to the mega-equation.
so, regardless, it seems like something is wrong with mental 2... also, for mental 1... do you think you could write that out just SLIGHTLY more coherently? i get that the point of the solution is to figure out what to solve and where/when, but with it being over about 10 different lines, having multiple question marks in it, and a lack of flowing grammar... it's just retarded. edit: solved mental 3... pretty straightforward. also, while these 3 games are QUITE hard... you know everyone has played them before. also, i'd say to give some kind of credit even without completion. i know not everyone can finish IQ2 or WHG.

eww:
the one i got for rubix' tourney was at least 100 deaths better... but too lazy to replay it.

Re: Funmonkey54 and kjwkjw's un-FFRly Tournament
i believe i solved #1.... although i got a formula, not an answer.... #3 was simple. yea, something is wrong with #2 and needs to be fixed. also, if 2xy=12 and not 14, then there needs to be a qualifier on whether x or y is larger, since otherwise there will be 2 correct solutions.
ps - meh. i really hate this game. good thing i'm good at the other 2. edit: also, i think the scoring for the games is off... 500 for IMP2, 1000-deaths for WHG, and then a max of 4000 for jelly blocks? most games give up to 1000 points per, nothing gives more, yet this one game gives 4000? not to mention, WHG should be completion for 1000, not assumed completion and then penalty for levels. I told rubix this when he used it... he wound up agreeing with me. WHG should be 30 points per level, with a 100 bonus for completion. Or something like that. Beating the game at all is equally as hard to do as maxing (1000 pointing) any of the previous 2 round games, if not harder.

Re: Funmonkey54 and kjwkjw's un-FFRly Tournament
actually, it doesn't matter, cause only us 2 are actually active...
And I want a breakdown of my points? I don't see how I can be almost 600 points behind tass, when the only thing i didn't get better or equal to tass is the movie munchies thing... Next, #3 B is unsolvable because the width of the Xs aren't known. That means you have a quadratic equation with 2 variables, leading to infinite answers. And tass; #1 is a answer. It is an INTEGER answer too.
