Re: World of Warcraft
Just finished a full clear of Naxxramas with a really, really good PuG... Killed Kel'Thuzad with ALL melee DPS(2 dps and the OT died mid fight)...
I tanked the adds basically the whole fight, they got to like 20 stacks. Me and the other DPS managed to kill him 4 minutes later. Most epic fight ever.

Re: World of Warcraft
Yeah isn't it fun?
Hey 717,000 exp that's not hard especially with northrend quests giving 20k each. Hey 1.5 million what the hell. At least the jump each level is only like 20k, so leveling actually gets easier as you approach 80. I think at the end it's like 1.65, which is cake. My advice is to do Borean and Fjord, then Dragonblight and Zul, then Sholazar, then Storm Peaks, then Icecrown. Make sure you try to do every quest you see as some quests are part of an epic chain that you don't want to miss. ps hi thread i've been playing for about a month now and i've been 80 for two weeks edit: oh yeah it's a tauren shaman and it's not named squeek so don't bother trying to find me on the armory Last edited by Squeek; 02-7-2009 at 06:01 AM.. |

Here's my current gear if anyone's interested.
http://www.wowarmory.com/character-s...ther&n=Ichijou Never did 10 mans until last night so the achievements are all listed recent. Jumped straight into heroic raids when I hit 80 :3 Last edited by Kagome; 02-7-2009 at 12:47 PM.. |

Re: World of Warcraft
25 man Naxx seems easier than some of the 10 man content. Last week, we took him down and our tank died twice in the same battle. He died once, got a battle rez, and died again from a frost bolt. In the end, we had some random druid pick it up and we still beat Kel'Thuzad. Half our dps and healers were dead as well.
Also, I'm nearing the end of pretty much all the content WotLK has to offer. I've completed phase 1 Malygos and we were probably 1/3 of the way into phase 2 Malygos. We'll probably do better next time we try it because most of our death knights were in blues and I have more gear since we last tried. ~Tsugomaru

Re: World of Warcraft
Bloodsail Admiral Devonin. Man that took an annoyingly long time.
Now I only need about 3500 silk cloth, and I'm good to go. Also, Ulduar raid is coming inthe next patch, one step up from Naxx in difficulty, 10 and 20 man versions. |

Re: World of Warcraft
Also fixing a lot of Shaman things and possibly adding dual-specs.
Definitely looking forward to 3.1, even though I'm still not really geared for normal Naxx yet. Or maybe I am and just never ran it. I've been using Rawr with filters off for all the 10+ man raids and what I've got now is pretty close to the top of the charts for heroics gear. |

Re: World of Warcraft
Is it even worth it just so you can have "Bloodsail Admiral"? I read somewhere that it also makes you hated by all the goblins, which I guess isn't a big deal for WotLK.

Re: World of Warcraft
It does make you hated by all the goblins, that's what the 3500 silk cloth is for, getting unhated by all the goblins :P

Re: World of Warcraft
I'm liking a lot of the changes in 3.1.
Squeek, you're probably geared for 25 man Naxx. As long as you run with a guild that has cleared it before, you should be able to participate no problem as a shaman. We've cleared 25 man Naxx with 3-4 dps under 1500 dps, maybe more. ~Tsugomaru

Re: World of Warcraft
DPS, especially single DPS in 25-mans have the lowest actual requirements to do anything.
If the fight doesn't involve position or movement, you have to stand there, and run your rotation, and then run your rotation, and other better geared and better DPS producing players can make up for your lack. A 25-man that has cleared Naxx can almost certainly 24-man it, and so subbing out for even a really crappy DPS doesn't actually cause them any problems. I suppose that half the reason why so many bosses in Wrath have enrage timers now is to actually force higher standards onto raiding DPS. If your tanks are good enough, and your heals are good enough, you used to not especially have to care how good the DPS was because they'd drop eventually. At least now DPS gets to see some of the work and effort that has already been going into making sure your tanks meet -all- the necessary requirements instead of just "being able to do ao bunch of damage, I guess" |
