I stepped it like 2 days ago lol.

This song is a bit hard to get the rhythm but still steps go with some part of the music, so yea.

A song by The Fats Sabobah? I knew what to expect here. I am not the biggest fan of TFS songs. This is one of those songs I will play once or twice to FC and then stay away from for a long, long time.

The steps were respectable and about par for a Difficult song, except... oh my god... I almost forgot how much I HATE airs added onto trills and rolls. They get me every time. And this song had *plenty* of those. Sorry to say it, but Jimerax is probably one of the steppers I'm going to avoid.

None of the songs the last 5 days have gotten me off my Horizon addiction.

If January's Song is around the borderline between 3 and 3.5 difficulty, it's probably a bit out of my FC range. I only played it once so far, just to try it out, and didn't do very well (lots of misses and boos). When the 16ths kicked in, I kind of got lost. The double/single/double/single/etc. pattern seems to be kind of popular in recent songs, and it sometimes gives me trouble. Sometimes I just hit doubles for all of them and take the point deductions just to keep the combo. As I get more familiar with the song and its patterns, I start to hit the arrows properly. Hopefully some practice will boost my score on this one. Normally I do need some practice to get a decent score; sightreading well here is tough for me.

Basically it's quite meaningless to avoid songs by the step author if it's just a skill problem.

It will be kinda boring if there's no double on it.
Plus they aren't jumpstreams, since they are 8ths and neither fast nor long.

I demand we come up with a name for the pattern at the end of JS (found in many many many other songs, such as Moonbeam, Halogen, Pants, Gradeus, and Cutting Circles... to name a few).

I've already coined the "sandwich"... we must coin a name for this pattern. It is too difficult to constantly describe the pattern as "alternating 8th jumps with the non-jump directly below one of the notes in the jump"

I was thinking "Squares" or "Boxes", since if you drew a straight line through all of the arrows, every turn would be at a 90 degree angle. Anyone have something better?

Can we just be uncreative and refer to it as a Tass, since you brought it up?

Edit:

Yeah, that works too...

Oh, I've always called those "transfer doubles." I strongly suggest you call them that because the double "transfers" to one of the notes. Duk's Delirium is a great example of the transfer.

From now on I'm using "8th chains" to describe that pattern.

Yo, just call it a chain. It's unlikely the pattern would ever be used for anything but 8ths, just like how a running man would almost always be in 16ths.

I wasn't complaining, just commenting. I know you need some variety and changes to make things interesting.

What's difficult depends on your ability level. I'm going to have trouble with some things that are easy for you, because I'm not that great. My viewpoint is different from yours and probably many others on the board. One reason I keep saying I'm not that great is so that everyone can keep it in mind when they're reading my comments.
