Re: The Fitness Thread
I have to get back to working out like I used to. I haven't touched the gym in a good six months. My diet also sucks and I put on a crap ton of weight. I gotta balance gaming, university and the gym... my time management sucks and I want to look like I used to haha. For the meantime, does anyone have some dieting advice I can consider while I wrap up my midterms? After that I'll be combining diet and exercise but I'm trying to figure out foods I shouldn't eat at all.

Re: The Fitness Thread
A little over week into my cut.
Gonna get shredded. Starting weight was 202 lbs, currently 197.5. 16 lbs heavier going into this cut than I was last year and BF calipers put me at about the same BF% Which is cool because sometimes I look in the mirror and don't think I've grown at all. Gained at least 10 lbs of muscle though. Gained an inch on my arms, 1.5 on my calves and some big changes in my quads/glutes and back hopefully. Excited to see the results!

Re: The Fitness Thread
I have a beep test coming up in a few weeks.
Is there anything in particular I should do in preparation? |

Re: The Fitness Thread
The hell all of you kids up to?
Not much to report here though tbh, just over a month into my cut now and I'm down to 191.5 as of this morning, from a starting weight of 201. Leaning out nicely, definition coming in consistently. Probably going to cut for two more months. Target weight about 175 and super shredded.

Re: The Fitness Thread
I figured that I would weigh myself today because I haven't really been active ever since I stopped thaiboxing from two months ago, and my weight went from 265 lbs. to 290 lbs. in like three weeks. I feel pretty terrible about my weight, but the fact that it went up 25 pounds is a slap in the face for me, but I should've expected it because like...I can't stop myself from high consumptions of food throughout the day, especially at night. I would like to have more of a lean figure since nowadays I've been struggling, but I have no idea how I would prepare healthier meals for myself. My goal would be to weigh in at 190 lbs. by the end of this year while having a healthy lifestyle in mind, spirit, and body.
Anyhow...I was planning on jogging 1 mile today, walk 2.5 miles afterwards, and then doing weight/abdominal intervals for myself. I would appreciate any help I can get towards achieving my goal. My MFP page is VincentRevolver and thanks again for taking the time to help. |

Re: The Fitness Thread
I would not increase exercise if your goal is to lose weight without adjusting your diet first.
The reason being is that there's a good amount of evidence to suggest that most people naturally overconsume to compensate for calories lost during exercise, and it sounds like you will have exactly that problem if you're having trouble controlling what you eat in the evening. You should make adjustments to your caloric intake. It's not necessarily about 'healthier meals'. That's never a bad thing, but you need to know the total caloric content of what you're eating so that you can adjust it to a level that leads to weight loss you're happy with.

Re: The Fitness Thread
Thanks for the advice. I'm definitely going to do that since like...every time I jump into something that requires vigorous activity doesn't really end well. I'll work my way up to getting more fit. I'm going to go grocery shopping today...will probably pick up some veggies and fruit mainly alongside with sunflower butter XD;
So this is what I ate so far today: 11 AM - Plain Bagel w/ Scallion Cream Cheese [440] ------------- 1 PM - Chicken Parmesan on a Kaiser Roll [471] 1:30 PM - Mini Bagel w/ 1 Tbsp Butter [120] ------------- 4 PM - 24 oz. Mixed Berry & Banana Protein Shake [579] So far my total is 1,610 Calories. I'm aiming to not go higher than 2,100 Calories, and aside from that I'll be working on spacing out my food more. I went for two walks today, one at 10 AM and another at 2PM. Both were speedy, but leisurely at the same time if that makes sense. I want to lose around 10 lbs. per month, but I'm going to take it one day at a time. Last edited by Alioth; 03-6-2014 at 03:18 PM.. |

Re: The Fitness Thread
I'm around 5 feet 11 inches, and I'm still around 290 lbs. I know where to start as far as my eating goes, but it's just a matter of me doing so. I'm thinking of having an egg white omelette for breakfast today since it's light
