Re: Stepmania Drum Pack
I would use that too, but it was a rough estimate on what Harmonix used on RB's expert charts.
Meh, I have time. I'll start working on the expert chart.

This is going to be like EnR and friends pack with the rate you're making these files.

Re: Stepmania Drum Pack
That's if you have free time, which I don't.
Brb judging files, then will send in Acid Rain. I'm not doing the full version because there are lots of little BPM changes, so I took... I think tora's file? I dunno from SMG I and used the BPM changes for that, then just stop before the solo. He has weird xmod things in the solo which make it hard to sync for the drum. The offsync seems a tiny bit off, if you wanna fix go ahead.

Re: Stepmania Drum Pack
You should make it x-mod.

Re: Stepmania Drum Pack
Here's my reviews.
Acid Rain - my file. Champagne Bath - good file, quite fun. Seemed pretty accurate on both difficulties, but, you didn't put crash hits when there were supposed to be. Otherwise, yes. Chillin with the Villian - joke file. Definite no. No one would ever be able to do this. Confined - the beginning after the intro where you have bass and snare, there is hi hat there too. Some crashes you have in the inner right arrow, it would seem more fitting for them to be on the outer right arrow. Fun, played it twice. Yes if these things are fixed. 500 - no. Stupid, short, and impossible. You can't buzz on a Rock Band pad, it doesn't have the bounce-back that a snare drum has. Down with the Sickness - Really fun, but when it gets into the verse you have 8th notes on the hi hat, when they are... I believe half notes. Listen to it, its not placed right. Same with when you have it on the ride. Listen carefully for that. Rest of it seemed pretty accurate, but that part really kinda bugs me. No for now until you fix. Feel Good Hit of the Summer - very accurate, yes. I Would Walk 500 Miles - I'm confused, is it 500 Miles or 5000 Miles? In the .zip and the folder it said 5000 Miles, but in SM it said 500 Miles. Yes though, accurate and fun. Still Afraid of Darkness - reminded me of Run to the Hills, although it is shorter so it doesn't test your stamina as long. Fun, yes. The Epidemic of Unexpected Relapses - Accurate and fun. Although I think you should make an easier version without the double bass, as some of us only have one pedal and are not amazing enough to do double pedal with one pedal. Yes. We the People - some of the fills weren't accurate, some of the snare rolls were half speed than it was in the song. Really really fun and accurate for the rest of it, yes, but I would like the fills to be checked. Yellowknife - eww bad song choice. Playing on a real kit when its a drum machine that made the drums are really awkward, especially for a techno song. Some of the fills weren't right on, and it wasn't really fun, sorry. No for me, but let's see what the other judges think about it. -Razor_Blade- - the beginning was really awkward and seemed like a keyboard file. When you got into the regular beat, it was pretty fun. Weird song choice. The cowbell part was really awkward too, didn't seem to flow well. I dunno though it just seemed kinda awkward. A maybe. {I Don't Need You Anymore} - Was extremely accurate with the hi hat, which is tricky to get with this type of song. It wasn't overstepped and was great. Fun and hard at the same time. Yes. This is something for ALL FILES, though. When you have a crash hit you should have a bass hit also. On a real kit, doing this gives the cymbal hit that extra *pang*.

Re: Stepmania Drum Pack
dood_gone_crazee, those are eighths, it's just that every time there's the snare he hits it harder (probably because it's hard to hit 2 different volumes at the same time) but I did fix a few things you missed.

Re: Stepmania Drum Pack
I started using c450 rather than 400; I think 400 is about the same scroll speed but RB's fretboard is shorter plus you don't have the perspective, so 450 works better. But I'll start moving up to 500+ soon.

I wonder if someone could make a Rock Band gameplay screen mod, so its normal StepMania but you turn a mod on and BAM the actual gameplay looks like Rock Band.

Re: Stepmania Drum Pack
...-_-
I really hate Originals like Paradise City that has many inconsistent but unnoticeable BPM changes. Before I submit it, I'll need someone to test out the syncing since I'm not the best =/.

Scrapped The Light That Blinds, couldn't get it to way that I would like it. I'll work on something else for this--also, TeRa--AWESOME noteskins. You can do it...get those receptors!

Actually, there really aren't supposed to be tiny BPM changes, its just when .mp3s are exchanged a lot (and rock songs always are) then all this swapping warps the file a tiny bit.

Re: Stepmania Drum Pack
What do I do with the middle =/
I'm thinking connect the 2 yellow border lines, and leave the middle transparent. PS, I'm going to add the grid background thing. Last edited by [TeRa]; 08-1-2008 at 07:30 PM.. |
