Now that I'm exiting the realm of kaizoku-fansubs...
It really isn't all that bad. I thought that I would be completely clueless as to what is going on. I've watched two different subs. Both are bearable, even though one is clearly superior to the other. Granted, neither are as good as kaizoku, but I'm more than willing to put up with it to watch more One Piece. The only time I might get annoyed is if gets to a point where I have absolutely no idea what is going on.
Hans, you should go download the entire manga and read the entire thing before continuing. That's what I did. I loved Kaizoku so much that I didn't want to go ahead so I read the manga and boy was I in for a huge surprise.

Once upon a time, I watched an episode of One Piece on cartoon network. I hated it. It was the absolute worst anime I'd seen to date (Bleach's "rescue Rukia" now has even 4Kids dub beaten). But I've always been fair about shows. So I watched three more and decided that was that.
Nearly two years later, I go to college and my roomate is watching them in Japanese (Alabasta onwards as she had watched it all in English prior to that). I nearly gagged when she told me it was amazing. Several weeks went by, she reached 230+ eps and started explaining some of it.
So I watched the fansub on crunchyroll before it was removed (and added back now). Omg. I fell in love. Next thing I knew, I was watching 8+ eps a night. I was devouring it. Then my One Piece viewing site removed it for being licensed by an American anime company that should burn in everlasting hell for the number it has done to so many wonderful shows. I began downloading them.
My hardrive had to be cleaned out twice of sixty episodes worth burned to a DVD. I watched 90+ episodes in a little over three weeks of Christmas break.
Things I discovered about One Piece:
Zoro ≠ Zolo
Sanji is not a thirty year old man from Brooklyn with a head cold.
Nor does he have a lollipop.
Nami is still an evil b*tch to Sanji.
Luffy is not a total dimwit. (He has his moments.. but he actually CAN grasp concepts.)
All monologuing virtually disappears from English to Japan.
Gum is to be chewed. Gomu is to be stretched.
The openings are NOT cheesy rap. What the hell.
Robin is NOT a Georgian bell of the ball.
There are dark and sinister plots/people in the world.
Helmeppo (I actually remember his name. xD ) Doesn't have a hammer to Coby's head.
There's more.. but I don't feel like writing it out.
All in all. One Piece is one of the best shows I've ever seen.
It's one of my favorite shows, up there with Yu Yu Hakusho and Cowboy Bebop.
I reccomend that anyone who saw the English and decided it sucked, should remember 4kids butchers all and look up the Japanese. ^_^
Oh. And did everyone here? According to international law regarding fansubs, they are legal to download in America again. Japan and Toei animation was so ticked about 4kids chop job that they pulled the contract. xD
It's unlicensed in America again. Wee!
Things I discovered about One Piece:
Zoro is not pronounced Zolo.
Sanji is not a thirty year old man from Brooklyn with a head cold.
Nor does he have a lollipop.
Nami is still an evil b*tch to Sanji.
Luffy is not a total dimwit. (He has his moments.. but he actually CAN grasp concepts.)

That's a good point, but 4kids still has the first 130-ish episodes and they will put them all on DVDs eventually.
That would mean everything until the end of Arabasta is "licensed".
And it's not like another company can't license it. The Japanese producer will probably be a little more hesitant to give it away this time though.
So I still recommend YouTube for the "legal" way (the way that you can't get fined since any court that fines people for watching YouTube videos would be laughed at).
I have a little friend that watches the American One Piece. He's trying to argue that it's better, even though he hasn't watched the Japanese ones. I have all the Japanese ones saved on my computer and when I opened the first episode, he decided to give a try (because you know, he didn't know you could totally watch stuff on the computer). He had trouble keeping up with the text because he isn't the world's faster reader. But one day, he'll be there.
As far as the American One Piece go, the rap song is quite catchy, but that's the best of the worst.

Agreed. They actually are supposedly relicensing it. But it'll be a while before they're out obviously. And they are redoing all the damage 4kids did. Basically their license was worth less than a fansub.
And my roommate likes the song as well. I can't even stomach it. >__> Makes me twitch. But then again, I don't view rap as music, so that probably doesn't help them in the least bit.
In either case, I'm downloading all the fansubs I can. I hate youtube anymore. Removes the episodes ever since google got its slimy hands on it. I just download them. Because I'm way passed Alabasta and the dubbed eps anyway, so no court could touch it anyway since fansubs that aren't licensed in your home country are legal.
I'm currently in Skypeia. Sanji (my favorite if you haven't guessed )[[Edited by HeartSanji to remove the spoiler she didn't mean to add.]] . and I can't see what happens next because where I usually get the episode from has a corrupted file. >__<
I have another site, but I've been too busy to download it. Stupid college. Y__Y

It's hard to find an anime that's good, solid and not typical like bleach or naruto. One you can say "I WATCH "insertrandomjapanesenamehere"!"
And people won't be like OMFGLOLZOMFGNOOBI'MONEPISODE223 AND EPISODE9BILLION ON TEEH MANGALOLZ!11111111
I hate those gay poké/digifag adoptables.
Lol 100 posts in about 2 days.
It's hard to tell whether or not Yuruka like or hates One Piece. So I'll just assume he does.

PS - I hate Youtube.
PSS - I'm following the manga now. I'm waiting till Kaizoku starts animating the Enies Lobby arc.
