Re: Benguin's (and Xel's!) Rates Tourney #2 (Registration Open)
Placements I need to look over again because you were either added as I put in scores, or because I want to double check I didn't miss anything when placing people.
In your case I just forgot you were d7, lol. I was trying to get them all in as I have to go to work in like 10 minutes lol |

3.5 is more than doable, at that point the streamy section is probably worse than the jacks (but still fine with 22g to work with)

I'd argue that the last long anchor jack on 4 that starts with a minijack is harder but yeah the stream is getting rough at that speed.

Re: Benguin's (and Xel's!) Rates Tourney #2 (Registration Open)
I've been gone a long time, what's the difference between Speed and Rate?
I'm in, miss this game <3 EDIT: placeholder. My accuracy has been 100% horrendous ever since I stopped actively playing. (Let me know if the link doesn't work, never used Mozilla Screenshots before) Last edited by Viisbyxa; 12-20-2017 at 05:11 PM.. |

Re: Benguin's (and Xel's!) Rates Tourney #2 (Registration Open)
speed = how fast the arrows go up the screen, actual time between notes does not change.
rate = speeds up or slows down the music and the notes with it, making the song harder or easier. Time between notes changes (shorter for rates above 1.0, longer for rates below 1.0)

Re: Benguin's (and Xel's!) Rates Tourney #2 (Registration Open)
Everything should be updated to here~
If not, please let Xel or myself know. ========================= Quote:
Yes, you are allowed to post a score that is exactly AT the threshold for the maximum number of goods. Quote:
I do see the point, although if we do put different weightings for each round, then it becomes a question of what weights to use and it's not quite obvious what those would be. I know that standard cumulative tournaments have suffered the opposite problem: the range in the number of goods achieved in earlier rounds is usually much less than the number of goods achieved in later rounds and this usually makes it so that there is more emphasis on later rounds. In order to make the weightings ideal, the weighting would need to take into account the specific file involved, the division, and the good threshold as well. Also, since rate tournemants aren't the default and there has already been some confusion about what how the tournament works, I'm worried about making the scoring system even more complicated. I'll discuss this with Xel though (hopefully tonight) and try to figure out what to do. In the case that we do stick with unweighted rounds and the emphasis on earlier rounds significantly affects the tournament in a very negative way, we'll at least have some good data to work with to try to come up with weightings for future tournaments. I love this post just because of this right here~ Quote:
Just a friendly reminder that this is a rates tournament so try see if you can play the file on a rate that is faster than 1.0x! For this round, you want to try to play as fast as you can while still getting under 22 raw goods. I know your score is updated, but I did want to make a friendly reminder that we take scores that are in multiples of 0.05 and anything else would be rounded DOWN to the nearest multiple of 0.05. So your 1.425x score would be rounded down to a 1.40x score. Quote:

Thanks Xel~ Quote:
I've placed you in D4 at the moment given your past history of scores, it seems you haven't played for awhile s: If you want, you could "ghost" another division although you wouldn't be eligible for prizes (with the exception of participation prizes). I'll be ghosting D5 myself (so I won't be eligible for prizes for obvious reasons :P) I don't know if I can provide much competition though...my current score on the file is not even close to what I'm seeing others in D5 getting :P |

Re: Benguin's (and Xel's!) Rates Tourney #2 (Registration Open)
TOKENS! I just wanted to make an announcement regarding token prizes. Thanks to rushyrulz and the FFR Event Staff, our tournament has been given official backing. Their backing includes an additional 250,000 credits and some token prizes for the winners. Who will win the tokens? For divisions with at least 5 players, first place winners will receive a token of their choice (more info below). For divisions with at least 10 players, first and second place winners will receive a token of their choice. With that said, here is a quick breakdown with what that means for each division: D7 - token of choice for 1st and 2nd place D6 - token of choice for 1st and 2nd place D5 - token of choice for 1st place (we're expecting to have at least 5 people in D5 after divisions are finalized) D4 - token of choice for 1st and 2nd place D3 - there's only one person in this division so they will be absorbed into either D2 or D4 D2 - token of choice for 1st place D1 - token of choice for 1st place What tokens can I pick? You can pick amongst the following tokens. Only 1st place winners may select the bolded tokens. -The Wises Were Wrong -FREEDOM DiVE -Dendrite v2 -Coactive [Over My Shoulder Mix] -Tell v3 (Extended Mix) -Touhou Judgment in the Sixtieth Year -The Bridgeport Run -Bedtime Story What if I'm awarded a token but have them all already? You'll be rewarded with 50,000 credits instead. Last edited by reuben_tate; 12-21-2017 at 01:14 AM.. |
