What sections of mines didn't you like? I had like three different purposes for them... Aesthetics for some of the stops, background sounds to make a minefield, and dodgeball with swing gimmicks. What do you mean by hollow? The xmod was supposed accent the scratches, give it the look/feel of a chicka-chicka. |

Reviews coming up tomorrow for each chart. I'm at Battlejam for now, but damn those hard charts are getting to me.
Also, is it just me, or does Satan's theme ending too early for me? |

Re: FFR Community Pack Summer 2012 Released
Okay, onto in-depth reviews. Files that are highlighted green are my favorite files from this pack.
24th Century Boy Both charts of this seem more dumpstream-ish than anything else, sorry but I couldn't keep playing through this. Maybe only playable through higher rates though. 532nm You seem to have a good idea with variation techniques. However, there are bad concepts you're using (i.e. jumptrills) and a couple parts of the song you're not exposing its "full" potential, causing emptyness and unbalanced flow. Abstract Art Honestly, regardless of how repetitive the song is and how off-sync your first version was Carlos I still liked it and think it shouldn't have been revised. These charts don't seem to fit the chaotic nature of the song justice and plus the jacks play more harshly than the rest of the steps. Acchi de Kocchi de Maybe too much abuse on the holds. While they express well to the song yes but some could have been contracted or overall just regular notes, the solo being the inclusion. As far as the rest of the chart goes it flows very well and the layering is great. Activation Synthesis Theory You already know what I think of this Logan. The beginner chart is ****ed technically and an insane speed file, other charts being that to a lesser extent. Excellent effort put into this. Advent of Purinpu! Satan-sama It felt like you were taking on another stepping style while still keeping your abrupt nature. This flowed all too well and is more so surprising coming from you haha. Great job. AVALON You made the climatic part of the song feel so empty and disappointing while everything else was done well with such fluent patterns. That's all I can say about this really. Could have probably used a harder chart. Battlefield Always count on Morgan to continue stepping dubstep dodgeball files. Expert was inputted greatly with pattern variation (beginner being rly hard pain). Every other chart being watered down from the chart above it. Battlejam wiutruhjpfusuhfl i ****ing love you morgan Insane for accuracy and every part of this is nailed down almost perfectly. Bent Choral I like the song but there's not much you can do with it. No matter how much variation you put into it, it'll still drag on and feel repetitive. Still stepped well regardless. Bingo Highway Really does seem a bit different from your style since you were experimenting. Hard chart is not all too bad but some parts feel left out compared with the solos, accented mines, etc. Expert chart being an extremely rough scoring file. BONAMANA From the rest of your files, I actually enjoyed this one. Gets a bit boring but the layering was well done for this song. Breaking Through The Gate Progressive file and is well executed on that part. Great job Carlos. buki The only problem I have with this file are the mines that started coming in which blew the chart's flow out of the water. Everything else is pretty good. Cadaver Anatomy - Extraction of Viscera The song choice is questionable lol. How it is stepped had a great old school feel. Nice to see you still stepping Charlo. Centipede DRINKING IS GOOD FOR YOU Charging Swarm of Mousketeers Honestly, I feel the structure is uneven but it's pretty damn hard to make a clean NDAD file. But, I still liked how this turned out. Checking You Out groovy daddy-o I was kind of surprised at this, but it's awkwardly stepped and the flow is detracted in so many parts of the file. Decent job nonetheless. Chronon Not fond of this at all. The bursts are very unorthodox and the file drags on considering the atmosphere of the song. Would only be playable on higher rates. Come On HAD to just play this another time instead of just going to review the next file. Really fun, memorable, and the x-mod gimmicks are amazingly done. Couple Breaking More dumpstream? Sigh, again can be very playable on higher rates. Divided By Three Again, you know how I feel about this. Solos were well stepped and the file is synced with much effort. DON'T WAKE ME FROM THE DREAM beatmania in OUTER SPACE coming soon Progressive buildup on the mines was nicely done. Great dodgeball file I have to say. Nice job with experimenting on this. Done from there, might review more later.

Re: FFR Community Pack Summer 2012 Released
idk why people skip a file bc "its the same song". theres no simfileDB anymore so you're not going to have over 1000 files for that one song
kneegr0w's file is like 3~4 years old, if the song hasn't been stepped in 4 years i think the file someone made for it is going to be completely different than the older one since its been around along enough to see real changes/possibly more creativity when i see a pack with a file restepped thats from an old pack (f5, f4, ppp etc), i look forward to see the steps in a more modern style |

there's been a trend for a while now of people restepping files after around a year (the island part ii in this pack, which is an incoherent mess and just plain makes shit up a few times) or not even that (here in the moment was restepped after 7 months) what do you say to that
