I'm telling you, you'd be surprised. There's been plenty of files that seem "perfectly" on sync and you pop them in DDReam and you can clearly see it's off.

Re: First Official FFR StepCon
Extremely experienced stepartists spend a much longer time that and still don't get within 10 ms of proper sync on a file. If you use DDreamStudio, I can understand you having "perfect" sync (and I put quotes because even DDream has an incredibly small amount of error within it), but if you use only StepMania, then I guarantee you that your files will have at least 5 ms of error (the only consistent exceptions to this are WinDEU and Mute).
EDIT: also, if you step/sync using a lower rate while using an assist tick, it's very likely that your steps are slightly off because the most prominent area of a given waveform won't stand out quite as much when your samples are time-stretched (i.e. slowed down). |

Re: First Official FFR StepCon
Yea when I just went to play it your file is now way off for me. Do you have a global offset?

depending of the music genre (most of the time I step Electro music = huge kick on each beats = stands out correctly while time stretched) it can be done quite easily.
and, IMO, 3-5 ms desync is not that much of a deal, as long as I can Fantastic them all, it doesn't really matter. HEHEHEEH I knew it. Tried the program, opened up my step, and the "offsync" was peanuts. it can't be noticeable when playing, but I guess it's cool to have it perfectly synced. Re: First Official FFR StepCon
Are the guidelines for submitting these charts the same as the normal batches, which require a .dwi file, specific folder names, and the difficulty not on beginner or edit? The OP was a bit vague on what we need to include when we submit.

Re: First Official FFR StepCon
Sooooo I resubmitted my file, please take the second one!
Not sure if it's just me or how to stop it, but timing/bpm changes on SM5 only save to the .ssc, and I forgot to adjust the offset in my .sm.... Quick fix, just resubmitted it, sorry! |

I would follow that method of submission.

It should be stepped on the heavy difficulty, but other than that yea basically just like a normal batch. Quote:

Re: First Official FFR StepCon
The reason it matters is because FFR runs 30 fps and timing is based on frames.
It makes a huge difference if things are off by a frame |

Welp, I goterdun,
It was actually pretty fun after all the screw-ups and restarts. Don't really expect to win with all the amazing people in my group but at least I learned a little from it. ^_^ Good luck everyone! |

Re: First Official FFR StepCon
What's funny is more of the people that I haven't seen around or really seen step sent in charts than the people I expected to. Also for those feeling discouraged about the people in their group, group 2 and 3 have had very few submissions. Group 3 only has 3 right now and only 4 for group 2. Group 1 has the most with a whole whopping 6.
I really hope more people are still finishing up considering how many signups we had only getting 13 submissions is pretty weak. |

Re: First Official FFR StepCon
I probably would make a chart for this, it's just that the song choice is not my cup of tea. If I saw this song in sm I probably wouldn't even play it. That's just my preference though :/

That's kinda part of the challenge though, stepping something you might not normally step. Pulls you out of your comfort zone so to speak.
