BPM is usually set by the percussion line or something similar. 960 BPM Speedcore actually does go that fast in some parts. MAX 300 has an underlying synth pattern that goes at 300 BPM. There is, of course, BPM doubling when it doesn't make sense, which you mention, with stuff like 400 BPM guitar songs, most of which are actually in the 180-200 range.
In any case, really, I think that the BPM should be the actual BPM of the song unless you are doing gimmicks. It doesn't matter what type of note you end up with. |
