Re: My DIY hardpad.
I have the frame put together but I haven't messed with it in a while.
what gauge metal did you use? have you bought corner brackets? if so what kind? I can't find the stanley ones that people recommend. and are you going to use plexi-glass or acrylic?

Re: My DIY hardpad.
I forgot to say that the only reason the wires aren't actually soldered to the mending bracket things is that they don't solder, and I was too lazy to take them off and sand them.
I don't remember what gauge the metal is, I'll check when I get home. I couldn't find corner brackets either, so I got some sort of little metal things (like the mending brackets but thinner and bigger) and bent and cut them into shape with a vise. It's not as bad and ugly as it sounds. I used acrylic, if I remember right it's more resilient than plexiglass. In the general update department, I have the corners and wiring finished and all I have left to do is cut the plastic and solder up a USB gamepad for the electronics. |

Re: My DIY hardpad.
My dad and I did the same thing.
Our pad is like an inch thick, and instead of filling the Up-left ect. arrows with metal, we used old floor tiles that went along pretty well with the rest of the pad. |
