RE: Exotic Ethnic
Ugh, Exotic Ethnic has a TON. That song is fricking HARD. I hate that song for being too hard. I think it drains a lot more stamina than Sakura.

I was thinking of Cartoon Heroes. Probably more that I think about it though... Twilight Zone, Matsuri Japan, or HVAM.

Yea, I think HVAM is the most tiring. I learned to play all the way up to heavy, and then we had a tournament. I lost horribly because my PA was uber ugly all because I couldn't crossover. Now, I love songs with crossovers. Rhythm and Police is definitely my favorite for crossovers.

Sync oni and Stoic are pretty hard, too. Stoic is like a harder version of DXY!, which a lot of people thought should've been a 9. |

HVAM, any crossover is possible if you're set up right, but you usually aren't unless you play ahead of time, which some people do. Spinning just doesn't seem like much of an option unless it's something like Frozen Ray (For Extreme).

The best way to PA HVAM is to do double steps minus a few crossovers imo. The spins aren't worth the risk and will likely screw up your PA.

Yeah, I end up double stepping on that a lot, that and Daikenkai, with its bullshit patterns and all. In general, though, it's a good idea to avoid double stepping all you can.

4 with my left. 2 with my right. 6 with my right (again). 8 with my left. Still, there is no easy way to do this. Even here, it's hard to do on hard songs. One thing that I did have a problem with is Afronova. In the beginning, there is a part that I could not figure out. I had to see people do the song correctly to get it. The part was, seriously, 426486426486426. I found out that I had to cross over not only left on the 6, but then put my right on the 4 right after to get it to work. After that, it was a breeze.

I have trouble on PSMO, because the crossovers are near impossible cuz they are all over the dang place.

The crossovers on PSMO aren't that hard if you study them. Crossovers aren't my problem, it's being too fast when playing. I fail PSMO because I'm too fast.

About your past Afronova problem, I had your same problem. If you turn your body with you facing the 4, it becomes simple. When you turn toward the left arrow, the 426486426482426 turns into 842862842862842, which is so much easier. However, it kinda puts you in a bad position for the upcoming jumps. But, if you are fast enough, it's not too bad.

Crossovers!
For the longest time I was just in a rut with DDR. I could play most of the heavy songs and pass alright, but some songs I was just confused on how to do it! And then one time at an arcade I was watching this kid playing (He was the best I'd ever seen, holy crap...) and he was playing End of the Century, and In saw him do the crossovers. And suddenly it hit me! I could do crossovers! I could suddenly do so many more songs with more ease. It just feels better too. *sniff* Crossovers saved my life... |

You guys all think HVAM is tiring? I beat it on my first try with only 3 misses, and I use HVAM like it's easy. Although the 8th jumps are tricky... Matsuri----------I thought was actually annoying more than tiring, the gallops constantly repeat themselves, it's quite annoying, same thing w/ Twilight Zone for the beginning. I don't know about Cartoon Heroes, i haven't tried it...yet. I remember Witch Doctor making my knees freakin' numb...and so did Exotic Ethnic. Those crossovers are fast as heck. And CSFIL Speed Mix...well, it's tiring to your legs, but not physically...I haven't seen anyone sweat to that song. Also, as HVAM said, Sakura is very a weak 10, I black flagged it on my second try. What else...oh yeah---I haven't tried Stoic, but if it's like DXY! then it will not be fun for me. Oh, sorry about the long post. Carry on... |
