You aren't saving anytime at ALL if you type slow. It doesn't make sense. If you take a class on typing, can you type things incorrectly? No. This is my classroom. Anybody who misses anything more than a typo fails. Here's why.

Punctuation. If you don't end your sentence, it's a run-on. If you don't put apostrophes in the words that need them, it's either not a contraction or not possessive. If you put apostrophes in words to make them plural, I HATE YOU. Learn that some words require an "-s" at the end and others need an "-es" to pluralize them, and that NO WORDS require an "'s" to pluralize them.

Capitalization. How can I tell what the beginning of a sentence or a proper noun are if they are not capitalized? I'm supposed to just "adapt" to your methods of wrongness and live with it? Screw that. How am I at fault for being right? you're at fault for choosing not to accomodate to the right way.

I'm now going to evaluate the lifetime of excuses for not typing right and throw them all into a shredder making you people who invent the excuses sound completely retarded.

    A) It saves time. BULL. Learn to type faster. Take a class, or just build your way up. Next.
    B) It's close enough. Really? Can I just say that 1+1 = 3 because it's close enough? NO. No excuses.
    C) What if the person doesn't have English as their first language? I'd bet at least 90% of the people here have English as their first language. Don't defend them; you aren't like them and have no right to use them as your excuse, idiot.

And that's all. The other ones fall into those 2 categories. Either way, you're wrong no matter what you say in defense, so don't defend yourself.

WHAT are you forced to take English for? 12 years you have to take English in the American education system. So, prove to me that you are a literate American and deserve the smallest fraction of your meaningless existance by spelling words correctly, capitalizing sentences, and punctuation properly.

I'm done for now. Don't bother me.

It DOES save time. It saves ONE person time, then costs the rest of the people reading it more time because it's harder to read.

It doesn't save MUCH time, but it saves time.

And MrESqueek, we are not all americans.
C is for Charisma, it's why people think I'm great! I make my friends all laugh and smile and never want to hate!

No. [what the hell are you talking about? that wouldnt make your typing flawless] This is my classroom. [again, what the hell are you talking about?]Anybody who misses anything more than a typo fails. Here's why.

Punctuation. If you don't end your sentence, it's a run-on. [yes, i agree] If you don't put apostrophes in the words that need them, it's either not a contraction or not possessive. [oh come on, u now that when i say dont i mean don't] If you put apostrophes in words to make them plural, I HATE YOU. Learn that some words require an "-s" at the end and others need an "-es" to pluralize them, and that NO WORDS require an "'s" to pluralize them. [i only 's things to pluralize if they are an acronym, and then only sometimes. i try not to, but sometimes it's a must, for me anyways. other than that, i kinda agree, 's is possession not pluralizing]

Capitalization. How can I tell what the beginning of a sentence or a proper noun [if u read my post, i said capitalizing proper nouns was good, so dont argue that with me] are if they are not capitalized? [how can you? b/cs you're not a complete idiot like you would have us all believe] I'm supposed to just "adapt" to your methods of wrongness and live with it? [yes] Screw that. [no] How am I at fault for being right? [who said you were at fault? i only said that i wasnt...well, not in any major way, that is] you're [uhoh, you didnt capitalize! is this truely a new sentance, or is it supposed to be a continuation of the previous one!? ARGH, SO CONFUSING!! ] at fault for choosing not to accomodate to the right way. [that sounds awefully communist to me. i neither like nor adhere to communist ways]

I'm now going to evaluate the lifetime of excuses for not typing right and throw them all into a shredder making you people who invent the excuses sound completely retarded. [1, there are more than 3 of these "lifetime of excuses." 2, shredder reminds me of TMNT; that show rocked! 3, if any1 sounds retarded right now, it's either you, or both of us (for being dumb enuf to argue over grammar)]

        A) It saves time. BULL. [it does, actually. not much, but yes, it does. especially since half the time when i try and hit ' i hit enter, and then i have to backspace and try again] Learn to type faster. [i type plenty fast. faster than most, actually] Take a class, [did that, it was queer] or just build your way up. [did that, too. had to type in those damn cheat codes for warcraft somehow, didnt i?] Next.
        B) It's close enough. Really? [yes, really. u is very close to you, and if said as you see it (saying the letter) it is pronounced the same way] Can I just say that 1+1 = 3 because it's close enough? NO. [actually, there is a "close enough" in math. it's called rounding. besides, you're using faulty logic. math is an exact process, while language is a much more free flowing thing. as long as you communicate the point it's all alright] No excuses.
        C) What if the person doesn't have English as their first language? [i dont think i've ever heard some1 argue this. in my experience, people who learn english 2nd or 3rd tend to have better grammar and spelling, they just mix the words up. it's really easy to tell if some1 was born speaking english or not. you have to know a language before you can abbreviate and use slang] I'd bet at least 90% of the people here have English as their first language. [probably more than that] Don't defend them; you aren't like them and have no right to use them as your excuse, idiot. [1, let's not be mean and call people idiots just b/cs we dont all agree. 2, when did any1 ever use that excuse? it is the most retarded excuse i've ever heard!]

And that's all. [i seriously doubt that only 3 excuses have ever been used...] The other ones fall into those 2 categories. [other what? specify, man. pronouns used such as that would get u a terrible grade on any AP exam. oh, and did u not just give 3 things, not 2?] Either way, you're wrong no matter what you say in defense, so don't defend yourself. [well, that's mostly your opinion, and in MY opinion, ur arguement sucks and i have thoroughly destroyed it]

WHAT are you forced to take English for? [i have to have 4 englishs to graduate, duh] 12 years you have to take English in the American education system. So, prove to me that you are a literate American and deserve the smallest fraction of your meaningless existance by spelling words correctly, capitalizing sentences, and punctuation properly. [what have i got to prove to you? you're belittling people because you think YOU are better b/cs you chose to type things "they way they're supposed to be typed." well, i dont give a crap what it's supposed to be, just as long as i'm understood, and seeing as how you responded to my posts with more than "huh? i dont understand, you're grammar is so bad!" i am assuming you are not a dipshit and that you (and all the rest of the people here) can understand what us lazy people mean when we shorten things down.]

I'm done for now. Don't bother me.

        ~Squeek
and as for proving my literacy and all that good stuff, here's my SAT:

well well, according to that i have better grammar than 93% of the people here (assuming of course that we are all SAT-taking seniors that plan to go to college, which we arent, which would imply that i actually fit in a higher percentile).

now, would some1 other than Squeek here say something about all this? at least give me the satisfaction that my arguement rocked socks. please?
So I've gone completely slack-ass and haven't done any work on creating games. =(

Yeah...I just don't think you're making good impressions on people if you don't make yourself look educated. Plus, it's good to start somewhere using correct grammar. When you're older and applying for jobs you don't want to say 'id b good bc i have experiance'. That's pretty wrong. -_-

I congratulate you for nit-picking my post. I really do. I'm glad you took time out of your life to go through the whole thing and add your comments to it. But that was time-consuming, wasn't it? So apparently you have the time to do such a thing, but not the time to reach an extra .5 inches for another key. Thank you for pointing out that it is common for people to make mistakes, but that's not my POINT. MY POINT is that YOU ALWAYS make mistakes, and you know you do, and you don't want to correct them.

I don't care if you ended up with a 1420 on your SAT. Good job. A+. Yay. I'm already in my first-choice college, so biased SAT scores don't matter anymore. I got an 1170. Do I look stupid? NO. And I'm not. If the test were in a field I cared about, I would have aced it. Like computer science for example, where spelling something wrong could mean a Syntax error up the WAZOO. I got all the grammar/spelling questions on the Verbal part right. And I got an "advanced proficiency" on forced state aptitude tests we have here. I'm graduating with a 4.0 and an advanced diploma. I'm not stupid, and I don't degrade myself by typing wrong.

Chrissi: I KNOW that everybody here isn't American. I CLEARLY SAID 90% of people here have English as a primary language. That's not only America. I assume that Australia, Canada, and England have English as a course, as well as any other English-speaking countries. Correct me if I'm wrong (which I doubt I am). I talk to people from these places and this is what they told me. So unless they were blatantly lying to me for fun, NO.

There was only one real comment I liked here. You said that there were like 20 elitists here, and someone replied that being right isn't being elite, or something to that effect. I like that person now. You're awesome.

Once again, the argument that "This isn't school or a job application" is useless. You're not applying for a job, you're applying for credibility. I don't believe evilbutterfly now because of the way they type. I can't just assume that the SAT score they screenshotted was thiers. Many people post their SAT scores with a picture included, so ripping off one of theirs isn't hard.

I'd recommend seeing how stupid you are by reading MADDOX. http://maddox.xmission.com/ He'll set you straight many times over.

I'm really a nice guy. I just hate when the language I speak is degraded to absolute crap. I remember a quote on Bash that read: "Rappers are like the noobs of the internet; 'OMGZ YO I R GANGSTR'" That's how I see you.

Have fun reading this, it shouldn't take you too long to translate proper English into proper English. Don't ever nit-pick my posts again with your crappy grammar and think you're better than me. Anybody can find fault in a post even if the person is absolutely sure that there are no errors. YOU can't though, because you made corrections with your bad grammar, which makes you sound worse in my book. And by the way, my rank owns yours.

Fine, sorry. I'll change it for you. I kinda consider Canada part of America still.

So you're saying that the Canadian education system doesn't teach you English (or Literature, or whatever they may call it)? I doubt that. Unless it's French, because there are always those places that only speak French.

And an SAT is a test you have to take to get into college. The scores are based on a scale to 800, and totaled to be 1600 as the best you can have.

ugh, this is getting boring. i make perfectly good points and you dont even agree with one. i can at least halfway see your side, but i think you're taking it a lil too far. i mean, ur not gonna believe me just b/cs i prefer to shorten things and save a lil time by not capitalizing? that's ludicrous, really. i could be the smartest person in the world (no, i'm not, and i know this) and be too lazy to type things out, and you may miss out on all my important scientific break-throughs just b/cs you're too think-headed to realize that typing things shorthanded doesnt mean some1 is a lying, stupid, newbish bafoon. i pity u for making an ass out of yourself, and i've just about had it with this topic.

It's pointless to argue your point. As a whole, on internet boards, most people will, off the bat, consider you a moron. Whether or not you are will take a little more time to prove to the community. I think using the excuse of shortcuts is pointless anyway. You save what, less than a second typing out a word and you're not going to use that time towards anything useful anyway. Just type it out, in a few posts (maybe a bit more) you'll get used to it and it'll come to you as easy as typing out "b/c". Plus, you'll save readers time. They won't have to decipher your posts if you made a shortcut they're not familiar with or if you didn't puncuate/didn't to it right.

                              Just fucking do it.

On another note.. I see Squeek maybe picking on you a bit.. 'tis not cool.

MrESqueek, it'd be a lie if I said we don't get taught english, and I never said that. We are required 12 years of english like the americans plus anywhere between 4 and 9 years of french class, plus one course in high school that involves english but is not english. I took writer's craft for that.
C is for Charisma, it's why people think I'm great! I make my friends all laugh and smile and never want to hate!
