Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
ALL SUBMISSIONS NEED TO BE SENT TO FOLLOWING ADDRESS AS A ZIP OR RAR.
(Submission address was changed on Nov 18, so please resend your files if you've sent files to the old address.) ffrsubmissions@gmail.com Batch is CLOSED Submission Deadline is 11:59:59 PM(CST/Server Time), Jan 2, 2011. You can still always send the fixed .dwi for queue'd/conditional queue'd files. Submission Rules If you want to submit files for FFR R1, please follow those rules. Or your file might be auto-rejected. 1. As an FFR submission, you must use .dwi format for your simfile (.sm file is optional). 2. Your file should be compressed with zip or rar format, and a folder is needed in your zip/rar file. 3. The name of the folder should be songname (username). i.e. [Magical 8bit Tour (jimerax)]. The artist name isn't needed in the folder name (It still needs to be written in the dwi file though). 4. You can only use songs that we have permission, so check it on permission thread before you step/submit. 5. The interval from the beginning to the part you put the first note of the song should be 2 or more seconds. If it doesn't, insert silence in the beginning of the song (or some notes in the beginning will be cut). 6. Graphics aren't needed, but having graphics is also ok. 7. Multiple difficulties (only 1 difficulty/1 file allowed), Freezes, Mines, Rolls are NOT allowed, so don't include them in your submissions. 8. The difficulty should be one of these (Beginner, Light, Standard, Heavy, Challenge). Don't use Edit. 9. Hands (triples and quads) are allowed, but be careful for not using hands too much (especially on easier songs). There're many players who generally hate hands. 10. You can use any (4th - 192nd) notes, and BPM changes, stops. 11. It should be a simfile that is fun to play for you and others, goes well to the song and captures all its themes and variations and has been confirmed to be on sync on a low music rate. Resubmission If you submitted files and they got rejected, you can resubmit them with some fixes to the next batch. Resubmissions aren't counted on your submission cap. Just put [Resubmission] at the top of the name of zip/rar file and folder ,then submit. i.e. [Resubmission] Magical 8bit Tour (jimerax).zip. If resubmissions are rejected again, re-resubmissions will be treated as regular submissions. If you want to minor-fix on a queue'd file, just send over the .dwi file to the submission e-mail. Submission Cap and Simfile Artist Point System [How to get Simfile Artist Points] Having a file (or more) in the game or queue -> +10 Getting 18/20 or more points in a file (11/27/2010 batch or later) -> +2 Getting 17/20 or fewer points in a file, which is accepted (11/27/2010 batch or later) -> +1 * collaboration files won't add points for you, but when you submit a collaboration file it's counted as 0.5 submission for each stepper. [Bonus/Penalty] (on 4 judges/team system) Getting 20/20 in a file -> bonus +1 Getting ++ from 2 judges -> bonus +2 Getting ++ from 3 judges -> bonus +5 Getting ++ from 4 judges -> bonus +10 Getting 4/20 in a file -> penalty -1 Getting -- from 2 judges -> penalty -2 Getting -- from 3 judges -> penalty -5 Getting -- from 4 judges -> penalty -10 Submitting more files than the cap with alt account -> penalty -3 Apparently stealing steps from other simfiles -> penalty -10 ex) A file got (++, ++, +, +), then +2 for 18/20 or more, +1 bonus for 20/20, +2 bonus for got ++ from 2 judges. Total +5pts. [Submission Cap by Simfile Artist Point] Negative pts - 1 0-9pts - 2 10-11pts - 3 12-19pts - 4 20-29pts - 5 30-39pts - 6 40-49pts - 7 50pts or more - 8 [Simfile Artist Point List] (excluding people who have 0pt or 10pts) [This list is temporary - as of Dec 25] User name - Current Point(Previous Point) [Submission Cap = 5] kommisar - 20(10) [Submission Cap = 4] who_cares973 - 16(10) Patashu - 15(10) jimerax - 13(10) bmah - 13(10) woker-X - 12(10) ElectricWerewolf - 12(10) Silvuh - 12(10) Dark_Chrysalis - 12(10) [Submission Cap = 3] buizel8888 - 11(10) megamon88 - 11(10) If you submit more files than your submission cap, we randomly determine files unless you tell us which ones you want to be judged). Judges can Auto-Reject files that have multiple charts/freezes/mines/rolls without even playing it. These are the file ratings used right now: [Main Ratings] [++] [Strong Accept, 5/5] Reserved for real masterpieces or flawless files, rare rating. Same as [+] for the purposes of acceptance, but you will get bonus points if your file gets this rating from 2 or more judges. [+] [Accepted, 5/5] Highest rating, file is strongly accepted by the judge, maybe with minor suggestions. [+.] [Light Accept, 4/5] File is either weakly accepted due to being somewhat generic/uninteresting or is good enough for FFR but could use significant improvement. [+?] [Pending, 3/5] The file is decent overall but needs some important tweaks in certain areas, or has many small technical errors, or doesn't have enough replay value. Not accepted without changes. [?] [Light Reject, 2/5] The file has potential, but needs significant reworking in order to be good enough for FFR. Not close to acceptance. [-] [Rejected, 1/5] The lowest rating that you will likely achieve. The file is basically pretty bad and needs to be completely redone, or the file was rejected for the following: -A freeze arrow or mine was used anywhere in the file -A significantly incorrect BPM was used -A section of it was way, way, way too hard, like a wall of 64th quads or something similarly ridiculous If any of the above are noticed, the judge has the right to immediately quit out and give the file a [-] rating, regardless of the quality of the rest of the file. [--] [Hard Reject, 1/5] Extremely bad file, or files just for kidding judges. Rare rating, and completely waste of time for judges. You will get some penalties if your file gets this rating from 2 or more judges. [Sub Ratings] - Add these ratings with the main ratings if needed. [#] The judge made the file (it may rarely happen due to mis-grouping). [<] There is already a better file for this song in the queue or in the batch, and the file is not suitable as a V2. [$] The file is better than the queue'd file that uses completely the same song, and it should be replaced with the old one (there's similarity in difficulty or stepping style). [!] The judge did not play the file for some reason, such as blatantly obvious permission issues (like anyone submitting a Led Zepplin file, for example), technical problems, or multiple difficulties in the file. THE QUEUE LIST As of Jan 12, 2011: 46 files are in the regular queue, 1 files are in the conditional queue. Red means song has been added but not released yet. Blue means song has been released to subscribers but not the public. Green means a pending song, which is in the Queue but has some permission problems(not counted as a queue'd file). Re: A List of ALL the Songs in the FFR Queue
Cool, let's just hope hi19's files aren't repetitive and completely random again and Kit-'s not completely retarded with jumpstream, jacks, etc etc.

Re: A List of ALL the Songs in the FFR Queue
You don't need to be a certain age, just make a decent simfile. I'm not saying anything but a lot of submissions from "great" stepfile artists on FFR have sucked so bad it's ridiculous. With a little practice you can send one in =\

Any possibility we could vote on the new SOTW? seeing as how there are so many options.
Personally I'd like to see Air on ffr pronto, as well as Psychosis.

Re: A List of ALL the Songs in the FFR Queue
alas though... you will note that a large number of the files we've accepted or are really close to accepting are from a small number of people.
these same people have very few files that are rejected. you'll notice that there are a fairly small number of files from random people on the above list. there are a very LARGE number of files from random people in the rejected list. that most certainly is not a coincidence. i don't want to discourage anyone from submitting files... but making a good file DOES take practice. we recommend making a few files for SM before attempting one for FFR, since you can publically release a file for SM and have people critique it. files for FFR, you don't get that luxury.
