///Codename: Dustsucker by Bark Psychosis (recommended by t-rogdor)

    1. From What Is Said to When It's Read
    2. The Black Meat
    3. Miss Abuse
    4. 400 Winters
    5. Dr Innocuous / Ketamoid
    6. Burning the City
    7. INQB8TR
    8. Shapeshifting
    9. Rose

And I thought Bark Psychosis was a death metal band.

    What a nice surprise.

    My rating : ★★★★★★★★★

Very few records struck me as strongly on first listen as this one. Just the right amount of everything. Experimental sections, as in Miss Abuse keep you on your toes. It's hard to predict what will come next. The quality of the compositions, melodies, textures and instrumentation is goddamn amazing. I especially loved the more accessible 400 Winters and Shapeshifting - with an unlikely foggy guitar solo. Similar to Talk Talk's Laughing Stock, probably because of the jazzy drumming and faint ethereal vocals, except more heartwarming as a whole. The only negatives are that small pause in The Black Meat and maybe Dr. Innocuous / Ketamoid... other than to create a pause, I didn't put my finger on the purpose of its existence.

    Still, a strong 9.

Nice call on the Talk Talk comparison, they're both first wave post rock. Solid to Strong 9 is about what I'd rank it myself. Not quite a 10 (because, let's be honest, what albums are honestly a 10?) but still fucking amazing in composition, being an eclectic mix of genres while having its own sound.

      nice review

Honestly, I hate the idea of a perfect 10 in the sense that there's no flexibility behind the rating. It makes people think that you found an album perfect in every possible way.
I can name some that are close enough, and probably deserves to be at the top, but I don't think I'll give any 10 for this project. Especially if I never heard them before.

Imo, a perfect 10 has to grow on the individual first, I'm assuming it's out of the question here.

I agree with that, although there's a slim possibility of someone giving a 10 if he/she/they like the genre already.
I like most post-rock, so it's easier for me to justify such a high rating.

              I believe I have a few.

              How about...

              * The Devin Townsend Project: Deconstruction
              * Merzbow: Tsubame (13 Japanese Birds Pt. 12) (NOISE ALERT)
              * The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza: Danza IV: The Alpha - The Omega
              * Venetian Snares: The Chocolate Wheelchair Album

I apologize if any of these have already been mentioned, or if you've already listened to them.

An approachable gabber release ? Compositions were simplified, sometimes for the better (as in Jingi or No More Loop) but most of the time, it's lacking sophistication. From the very little I've listened to him, it's a bit more focused. I might be crazy, but I was expecting more craziness and experimentation. As in most gabber, the beat is often too present or repetitive. At moments, it worked : 2:20 into Ride the Blast or 3:00 into Dollz. You can feel the dubstep influences. The blend of styles is interesting, but there are some grating parts : Distorted Children with his excessive high-pitch breakdown notably.

                Meh.

What do you think about this one Coolboyrulez ? Is it better than his other albums ?

I personally think that's a fair raiting and prefer his compilation works or collaboration works (108 sketches 1 / 2 not so much 3) moreso than his albums -- even then, I prefer the older ones. (say, MUSCARI)

Good review but as you mentioned perhaps a good point for people to get into RoughSketch and sadly I don't think he'll ever make a album that I personally find wicked from end to finish but rather individual tracks that I really enjoy

                    1. TNT

                    3. Ten-Day Interval
                    4. I Set My Face to the Hillside
                    5. The Equator
                    6. A Simple Way to Go Faster Than Light That Does Not Work
                    7. The Suspension Bridge at Iguazú Falls
                    8. Four-Days Interval
                    9. In Sarah, Mencken, Christ, and Beethoven There Were Women and Men
                    10. Almost Always Is Nearly Enough
                    11. Jetty
                    12. Everglade

Challenging album that mix jazz, minimalism and electronic with post-rock. The album has swinging moods. The first song is the most jazzy, has dissonant guitar chords and a strong drum presence. Ten-Day Interval is minimalistic, with a repetitive xylophone and piano chords. I Set My Face to the Hillside has a charming desert influenced atmosphere, with another change of tone at 3:40. Almost Always Is Nearly Enough could totally be ripped from Amon Tobin's Bricolage. Unexpected breakbeat sound. Jetty is an indescriptible electronic-dnb-downtempo song, the best on the record. In fact, Jetty made me wonder if I should rate this album higher. Maybe the whole middle part (track 5 to 9) didn't struck me strongly to justify anything above 7. Still, very eclectic genres.

A logicial continuation from Scurrilous. Although much more faster (how is that even possible). Almost crossing the line with power metal in Without Prejudice and Yellow Teeth. The djent inspiration for the guitars is apparent more than ever in Clarity. Good work by Chris Adler on drums, considering the amount of time he was given. The vocals have also improved overall.
Volition is even more consistent quality-wise than its predecessors, particularly Kezia and Fortress. It's a good thing when I found impressive every song I randomly picked. This has a downside of making every song looks the same, but this shouldn't be a problem for me. Apart from the first few spins, I don't listen to albums as a whole.

If I was to rank their albums : Fortress > Volition > Scurrilous > Kezia
Though decision for Kezia, it could be #2 or #4.
