The cliffnotes version is voting for someone in lylo is a declaration that you are staking the game on them being a wolf. Since wolves didn't stack on me to kill me, that means between you and me there is always a wolf. Thats why town can only vote between the 2 of us.

i do think mellon can somehow give out fruits and targeted each of us during the night which is why star saw that.... which is hilarious because....... melon....

realistically I think it's to mess with the people who can track night actions, it adds another action that doesn't actually impact the game
