d0 = day 0, aka, the first starting day where people can post and make a lynch, unless it's night start, in which case it's usually n0 and then d1.

Like, is the EoD (this means End of Day, new players) countdown actually the only thing that motivates people to try to win the game?

d0 is accepted as the shitpost phase from my understanding, because there is no hard mechanic information to follow in this phase. It is all gut, or slip-ups. You can't go back and look at someone else's reads because no one's roles have been revealed, so instead of analyzing those reads, people shitpost.

like, usually the mechanical information we have on d1 doesn't seem that relevant, and it ends up being reads based on interactions and guts anyway

maybe I'm dead wrong and just haven't played enough games yet to become cynical towards the possible d0 information

reads based on interactions and guts backed by mechanical information > reads based on intractions and guts backed by guts

This is where some players piggy back off of 'pre-game META's'. Actions & performance based off of similar activity in previous games to make a read on someone.

Most we can do right now is let everyone know when we like / dislike something, and tell others what we're thinking overall (reads lists), but stuff like that is generally difficult when a large majority has not contributed yet because it's d0.

I think mechanical information can come out of shitpost. At least, I see some.

A secondary wolf objective (primary being having every town player die before them) is to blend in strategically to avoid suspicion. D0 being usually a meme phase before we can analyze lynches/mislynches, nightkills and interactions, it can reveal some players who either tried too hard to go with the flow or avoided posting altogether. In the previous game, I had a wolf read on svaz because it looked like she put up her shitposting roleplaying act just to sheep on DBP.

Therefore memephase isn't worthless, and unless a wolf is absolutely terrible, it's gonna be a mislynch anyway, and it's usually not a big deal imo.
