It's not just because I haven't been playing for a few years and gained rust. There's other factors into why I can't play as well as I used to coming in to this.

Imo that doesnt really matter. Youre d6, its good that you are just ghosting but d5 wont be a challenge for you lol.
I understand that you want to be where you feel comfortable but thats literally half of every division... Myself and others will never even top 10 in d6 yet we still dont ask for d5.

I think ghosting a lower division is a fine way to derust and to get back into the game if one's current skill is severely behind their peak skill.
