thats a great opinion i cant see any disagreement, two other really great cereal box games that i remember from my childhood are timon and pumbaas jungle games, and capn crunchs crunchling adventure, god the nostalgia tho

Lmao I played the shit out of that crunchling adventure game. I wanted to get the buffest blue crunchling the world had ever seen. Was pretty cool once you levelled up.

On that note, a few other cereal box games I had: The Game of Life (good), Yahtzee, Monopoly, Sorry, uhh I guess all board games??? A few others I don’t remember.

so little developers actually understand what difficulty means. "hard" games usually end up annoying and frustrating rather than challenging.

the good hard: dark souls
the bad "hard": nier automata (honestly, the difficulty settings make no sense)((obviously the game is not meant to be difficult in the first place so maybe it's not a fair comparison))

Strange Telephone is really good but its really more of a demo for a full upcoming PC game so maybe that doesnt count.

the NES megaman games are literal garbage. not hard, in fact you'd have to be genuinely retarded to actually die even once in megaman 2, but the level design is fucking atrocious and filled with random weak enemies that exist just to hit you unexpectedly and slow you down, which is just annoying without actually adding difficulty.

As far as I am aware, you have never produced a simfile. I don't think your opinion here matters.

Also I have dabbled in the Osu editor, and I'd have an easier time going a whole day without offending literally anyone, than make any piece of content that's somewhat decent with that pos.

Edit: Earthbound is a game about kids with powers in 1990's america who are destined to either stop an impending alien invasion or die trying
Undertale is about a kid who falls down a hole and keeps getting attacked by monsters who call him a monster when he just wants to be left alone and go home
just because both contain witty dialogue and developer jokes doesn't mean they're the same

the comparison happens because toby fox got his start in game development by modding earthbound and making earthbound fangames, and he is on the record for saying that earthbound directly inspired him to make undertale

the comparison isn't exactly meaningless
