there are actually a large demographic of people playing these "older" files, but none of them are actively going out of their way to participate in the elite clique of sharing/posting their scores to the public.

hi yes I miss those old songs and files too

there's definitely a v soft spot in my heart over them

It's strange that now I have no idea what the file landscape or stepping technique is. I left around the time that dumpfiles were becoming more common and glitchcore/IDM was at its height

It's like the artistically creative and fun to play files were few and far between at the time. This isn't to say that dumpfiles or technically complex+accurate files were not fun, but in my head at the time it really came down to having to find music that was technically and musically complex+fast to justify a difficult file.
