Re: TWG CLXIV: Classics Man - Game Thread
My responses in italics.responses in boldOriginally posted by Witch of CertaintyBecause it's not a nitpick, I actuallly think the two are different? Reads, both scum and town, are thoughts based on analysis/deduction with a solid case behind them, you're saying you have concrete proof towards a person's alignment. Leans are just leans, thoughts based on impressions/senses/gut feelings of townishness/scumminess without much concrete behind them.
that's your definition of what "scum read" means, what I'm asking is if you have any reads that are on the scum side, if I must be so clear
Okay, so the answer hasn't changed.
no, shoot me, go on
Okay, but why is he a wolf? And no, being "in his wolf range" is far from enough.
he's a wolf because he's not being towny and because he seems to care more about how shado is read than himself. keep in mind I'm not asking you to sheep me here, I'm asking you to show a grain of independent thought wrt to scumreads
I already answered that, simply repeating it while accusing me of not showing thought is...well, nagl
In the first of his two posts he quoted, he explains (pretty well) how he sees a post of Shado's as townish and says he's not getting lynched anytime early on the way he's going. I don't see how that is strongly defending Shado himself as town, only saying that he has at least one good post and isn't likely to be lynched if he keeps it up.
lol
See above for why I say there's an actual difference.
Ah, I wish I had the energy and power to come up with things from nothing. Guess I'll just stick to my town leans then.
hahahahahaha gj twisting what I said, but if you can't come up with anything you find suspicious then again, nagl
How did I twist what you said? You're essentially asking me to come up with scum leans/reads when I've found nothing, hence my response. I'm still challenging your one real scum read without any good answer yet btw.
I didn't say I'd be compelled to follow his lead.
what if! what if he's town, what if he's the vig, or the wolf RB? I don't know, all I know is that I feel like he's town and has reliable judgement, so I'm willing to follow what he thinks in the absence of having come up with anything I want to pursue myself. That is not saying "sunfan is town and I'll vote whoever he does without explanation!"
but that's the whole problem: you're essentially doubling someone else's vote while simultaneously not thinking for yourself
"I didn't say I'd be compelled to follow his lead." I asked him to try and get me to vote someone, not to just give me a name I'd vote automatically. So that's wrong.
Pressure voting anyone besides a new player is silly, anyone with some experience can tell when not to be afraid of a vote. A mild suspicion doesn't justify a serious vote to me, deal with it. To me, it should, or at least that you have enough of a case on them that you're willing to declare your intent to see them lynched if it sticks. "Scummy enough" means you can bring a concrete case to show that they're scum.
you don't need a concrete case to think someone is scum. you also don't need a concrete case to get other people to think someone is scum. pressure voting can do wonders for players of all experience, because a pressure vote can easily turn into a more serious vote if not addressed.
responses in bold
Sure, I'd call that a scum lean. ...I'm sorry, what? You can convince other people to scumread and lynch someone without any case? A pressure vote turning into a more serious vote means that whoever you were pressuring failed to effectively answer you and became a scum read, so nahhhh, doesn't quite apply.Comment

"In the sense that it's just wrong"
C'mon AA, you've gotta be more observant than that.
I'm not scumreading him. Just don't like his reads list. I made sure to explicitly say that I only didn't like it because I think it's wrong...

I don't think you're stupid, I think your conclusion was stupid, no matter how joking you were with it.
But not interacting is not the solution, if anything I ought to pull an old page out and tunnel the shit out of youComment

Whoa.
Sure, quote what you like.
How does asking MML why thinks you're town NOW affect you? Why does that trigger an instant vote?
Hell, how long have you even been here? Is that the only thing you read before deciding to vote?

people in the apartment beneath me complained FMLOriginally posted by Vendetta21Did you get a chance to kill that deadbeat sonuvabitch boyfriend of danceguys', "sunfan"? i hate that fucker. he's a stupid head. i'm way smarter and funnier and prettier and richer and more sensitive than him, and like i can get drunk and still hold complex logical conversations n shit and i bet that fucker cant.Originally posted by XelNyaI'd suck a dick in a dark, dark alley.Originally posted by star-crossed(Someone helpfully lectured us in postgame that we voted out the wrong inactive player with COVID on Day 1.)Comment

K
That major one concerning how you handled the Raeko case.Which interaction do you not like with me and AA? We've had a lot.
Didn't you vote for him at one point over that contradiction or am I misremembering? Why do you feel me and Xel are "suddenly cool"? I've been townreading Xel since his queue posts, and he's been townreading me to the point of unknowingly putting me in his townpile twice.
He flat out said he wasn't feeling the game at one point this isn't up for debate. I called him out for it and he was basically like "yep"Why do you get the feeling that Charu wasn't "feeling the game"? He has the most posts, and while his posts were primarily reactive (dropping little tidbits on everything happening as it has happens), he definitely had his share of participation.
Even if he didn't, you can tell Charu isn't really trying that hard when he resorts to gifs and purely reaction posts. He did say he'll try again today IIRC, and that's good but he just hasn't gotten here yet I don't think. We'll see
Explained this more then once already. Tone, ease of how he was telling jokes and lack of tryhardy posts. Why do you think Haku is town?
Haku's like the easiest person here to read and has done more then enough for me to give a d0 pass to.Comment

Re: TWG CLXIV: Classics Man - Game Thread
I don't have a concrete case for why xel is scum outside of what I've told you:
he's meh this game to me (this is a meta read and you'll have to deal with it)
his focus on people townreading shado is very strange and I'm not really following how it comes from a town perspective. he had a post where he said something along the lines of "I don't see how anyone can be wolfreading shado besides mellon/raeko"
do I need more? I think it'd be nice, but no, I don't think I need more.
yes, I can convince people to scumread and lynch people without what you'd consider a case. literally one scummy post is all you need to get people lynched in some cases, it's really not that hard. I did it to MML as he just mentioned off of one post that I made and his one post response (or in this case, the lack of a response) and lynched him. see? not hard.
I'm not so stupid to just scumread someone because they straight up aren't there, but when people actively avoid questions that are generating the pressure then it's nagl and generally turns into a scumread, yes. town generally have an easier time answering questions than wolves do so it's more effective than you might think

as per repeated statements and explanations, I have no townreads
strongest leans are you/Backpack/AA (pending AA's final answer[s] to being questioned about the Xel read)Comment

Re: TWG CLXIV: Classics Man - Game Thread
Yo think a second.
I only have 2 wolf wins in this entire forum.
1. Turbo IV with Charu where I die early on and Charu wins alone.
2. Egregious Miscalculations where everyone is technically a serial killer instead of a wolf.
I fail miserably in every other wolf games.
It's very simple, I'm not "this" confident ever as a wolf.
It's not "omg you could do it", it's literally "it never happened".

Re: TWG CLXIV: Classics Man - Game Thread
I also think it's pretty right
1st point: isn't he saying he likes our interactions? why are you then asking what he doesn't like?Which interaction do you not like with me and AA? We've had a lot.
Why do you feel me and Xel are "suddenly cool"? I've been townreading Xel since his queue posts, and he's been townreading me to the point of unknowingly putting me in his townpile twice.
Why do you get the feeling that Charu wasn't "feeling the game"? He has the most posts, and while his posts were primarily reactive (dropping little tidbits on everything happening as it has happens), he definitely had his share of participation.
Why do you think Haku is town?
2nd point: it would make sense if he's referring to how you suddenly called him out on a contradiction and now seem to be ok with it.
3rd point: charu has said multiple times he's not feeling this game/doesn't have energy
4th point: valid, but that doesn't really suggest that he's wrong, that just asks for more reasoning
