Re: Keyboardsmash Phase I: Legacy Submissions Open
Notes yaaaay
Kissing the Shadows (Baq12) Beginner - Accepted
- Some of the holds could be shortened for visual flow and aesthetic
- 10.159 to 10.476: Mini-freezes can be used here to emphasize the riff here.
+ Hands to emphasize the guitar/drums works perfectly well as it is.
- 24.315 to 24.607: You can make this a trill just like you had @ 10.159 to 10.476 and add mini-freezes here.
- 24.607: Shift note down to 24.631 (It's actually a 64th as opposed to a 16th)
- 32.739, 32.845, 33.057: Shift these down, they're not 192nds but actually normal coloured notes (16th, 8th, and 4th respectively)
- 39.879: I actually don't hear the note being sustained on this particular note for the most part.
- 41.707: Same issue as @39.879
- 64.896: Missed a note here...
- 64.840: Which I think was suppose to be this note...I'm definitely hearing this as a 192nd that belongs on 64.896
= 97.371 to 100.506: Just a suggestion, you could add the empty gap as mines (which I would have done myself) But having that break is enough for me. Just giving an idea.
- 125.377: They're actually 64ths @125.348
Overall: Aside from some technical nitpicks, this file is actually fun and proper to play. Then again, this is a nifty Baq file :U
Unknown Soldier (Baq12) Beginner - Accepted
Aside from a few minor nitpicks in regards to the solo, I really didn't see nothing too major that could ruin the flow of the file.
Fallin Love (MrTea) *Sync is off by a 48th, fix it please. Proper offset is 0.586, going by your offset* Heavy - Accepted
- 7.300: Ghost note
- Most of these freezes can be shortened for visual appeal and flow.
- 93.979: Like here. The pattern is correct but the freeze sort of males me feel like it was anchored in a way.
- 120.979 to 122.907: Proper time signatures for this part ~ 121.023, 121.434, 122.104, 122.345, 122.479
Overall: Fix the offset and those minor nitpicks and wala~
Electroman Adventures (Riotpolice) *Hey congrats on stepping your first file :3. Proper offset is 0.029, the sync is off by a 48th* Heavy - Rejected
You seem to have the basic structure of the file down, but the file itself seemed to be randomply placed together. Also, what happened to the file after 116.118 .-.? Anyhow, the file does have a bit of flow that makes me feel like you were following a pattern. BUT, there are several opportunities where you can add jumps to the drums, freezes and whatnot. I won't go too much into depth but I can skype you my full notes for the file or I can just PM it to you here in fiffer. But don't worry, just gotta keep on stepping and you'll have everything down in no time~
Alicemagic (Yume) Heavy - Accepted
The only nitpick I have is the freeze at 84.144 that lasts for an infinity lmfao. But I will look over the file again later to see if there's any slight nitpicks. But from what I can see, the file's tight.
Altale (Yume) Heavy - Accepted
My hands oww @_@
Aside from that, the mines in the intro js is really a pain to dodge to be fair. Nice file though. nitpicks are in agreement with DaShoe
Spinal Fluid Explosion Girl (WV) Heavy - Accepted
Fuck the haters on this cut.
- 25.641 & 25.770: I'm pretty sure these are 16ths though...
- Also, is it just me or the sync is off by a 64th? Global Offset issue?
+ Other than that, nice :U
Hui, Pizda, Govno! (DaShoe) Heavy - Kappa
- 106.186 to 107.480: Kappa
This file is a Kappa/10 I really need to look at this file again because at first I was listening to sharpnel until "Oh nvm, is reizoko". (Btw, that is an accept but I'll go much more into detail later @_@...)

I'm also loving the accepted / pending train. I was a wee bit harsh in some of my reviews, but it almost felt odd to me to just be accepting everything. Too many good files hrng.
Also I think Altale v2 is better. I'll have to look into the rolls to see if they're correct, but it's a fix, so I'm just assuming. For such a delightful song, it's freaking difficult, but not in a bad way. I'll get to Swifty soon.
EDIT:
Swifty - Accepted The intro was making me go "ugh another boring repetitive file to reject." but then it picked up. I guarantee James May will say something about the offset being wrong by 0.001. Most of the file looks pretty tight, and even for it's length, it's something I could see myself playing more than once. The style being so odd and quiet is super chill. The ending with the amount of jumps may or may not be overdone, but it's hard to tell because of how quiet it can be. I'm not entirely sure, but the bass solo part could possibly use a wee bit more notes, but because it's SO FREAKING QUIET, it's totally up to you on whether or not you want to update it with more arrows during those parts. Overall, pretty sweet file.
Also I should probably start making some 10 minute graphics for some of these files.

You kind of have to fight back the urge to pick out things if most of the files turn out to be good. Obviously you'll be thinking that you're reviewing too easily, but if you enjoyed them all, so be it.

Definitely. It's not a bad thing to have too many files in a pack, but if some accepted/pending start to stand out from the rest the pack, they might be cut. Not that I'd personally want to do that.
