Except song choice is actually a thing when it comes to file quality. It's at least part of the reason why a song like Robotomy will have trouble getting into the game.

Kiwi, it doesn't seem like you're getting the gist of what's trying to be said here.

We're not saying that he can/can't send a file by any given artist -- he's the simfile artist, he can in fact send whatever he wants. His point of defense was that not all of Yuyoyuppe's songs have high-pitched Vocaloid; his Yuyoyuppe song not only does have that, but also happens to be the first Yuyoyuppe song in game, which means he's giving an unintentionally falsified first impression of the artist. The rock structure of the song is very intense and gives off a pretty awesome feel, but to a lot of people (myself included), Vocaloid completely ruins it.

Middie can't expect people to be fond of the artist featuring a Vocaloid when it normally doesn't in the case of it first being introduced to the site.

Sure it is, but only if the song choice is creating a bad file. If the file's good and the song is bad I couldn't care less. Maybe I wont play it, but I would be angry if it wasn't accepted for that reason.

I don't understand. His point of defense was that simply because people were complaining about the high pitched voices. Are you seriously saying he's not allowed to inform people that not all of Yuyoyuppe's songs are like that, and should have sent a different song instead? Here's how this thread should have gone:

People: I hate the high pitched vocaloid voices! This artist sucks!
Middie: Not all of their songs are like that!
People: Oh okay!!

I should be more clear: song choice as in the genre, not in how conducive it is to stepping.

A lot of people are complaining about the vocaloid/metal combination. I don't like how it sounds at all either.
Then again, I'm sure a lot of people dislike most IDM and breakcore which is common on FFR.
