I think the funny part is arguing about religion on the internet.

Agreed, but it's even funnier to argue with an atheist who tries to tell you his religion is the absolute correct one.(I'm agnostic btw)

I don't know if I'm one of the few but I practice lent for personal reasons. same thing applies to me for being a Christian.

Edit: I do not feel that athiest are wrong for not believing in religion. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I'm completely fine with that.

Isn't lent a catholic tradition?(Not asking because you're christian, i know you said it was for personal reasons, so i'm just curious)

What poison said. And I'm not necessarily Catholic. I'm methodist.

I mean when you're down and just feeling like shit, you have something to look forward to, some call it false hope, others call it faith. It's just a matter of beliefs. Atheists believe the world started from NOTHING, and became what it is today. Nothing+nothing=a planet? No idea really, i didn't study galaxy algebra. Either way, all of our beliefs are flawed a bit.

PS: Atheism is no more, and no less than a religion itself. Religion definition:a specific fundamental set of beliefs and practices generally agreed upon by a number of persons or sects.
                      No.

No, atheism is not a religion.

No, not all athiests believe the world started from nothing. An athiest is one who rejects the notion of a deity or deities.

Atheism is not a religion because it is not one uniform set of beliefs. Not all athiests have the same world views. However, atheism is a qualification of one's ideas of the world.

It's not really funny but I like his attitude on the matter. I agree with some of his points.

I think there's also a fair measurement of gullibility here, towards believing in religion itself, & things to do with it. Like lent. I guess that's just my belief though.

"An athiest is one who rejects the notion of a deity or deities." As you said above. So tell me now, it's not a belief system then huh? Not looking for an argument, but i don't like ignorance.

Edit: In other words... "No, not all atheists believe the world started from nothing. An atheist is one who rejects the notion of a deity or deities." What this could easily mean, is that atheism has many different branches of belief systems correct? example: As stated by Poison, Catholicism is a, "Branch" from Christianity, with this logic, atheism is in fact a religion, simply because it's a belief system with fairly similar views, of course not everyone has the same precise view on it, but that's just human nature.

Quite true, and we're all entitled to our own beliefs, no one can justify whether they're right or wrong, because it's strictly a matter of opinion.
