Is there any documented research about the health risk of this product? Are its vapors harmful? Is it particularly nasty for the environment?

Once dry, there are no known environmental concerns. The coating has been found to be safe for use in nonfood contact areas of food processing plants. The coating meets FDA and USDA regulations for those types of applications.
When applying the coating, we recommend using gloves and avoiding skin contact as it will dry out the skin.
Goggles for eye protection and respirators with P100 pre-filters and organic vapor cartridges are also recommended during the spray-on application.

Pretty simple, it will act like a normal soup. It will simply not be in contact with the bowl. I guess there will be less friction between water and the product too.

And yeah, one thing that won't work : using this on a paintbrush. If you put that stuff thinking you'll never need to clean your paintbrush again, you wouldn't be able to grap paint afterwards.

It would work on the handle, though. Unless your hands get sweaty, then I guess it'd be a problem (unless you wore gloves (also coated in this )).
