You didn't do anything wrong .Rarity. There's only a fuss because your skillboosting happened outside FFR and your FFR scores didn't reflect it when you were placed.

Also, the scores weren't gotten in 2 weeks. Most were gotten during round 1 and/or at the beginning of round 2. We didn't know anything until Xiz mentioned he AAAd AAA

Just to clear things up, I personally never said he did anything wrong (just in case some of you thought it was implied), I just said that with his skill level (which he worked his ass off for) puts the rest of his division at a disadvantage. When others skill boosted significantly in a short amount of time early in a tourney they got bumped up to a more fitting environment. I was just surprised no one did anything in terms of moving him up. If they think he's fine there, so be it. Makes no difference to me.

Also for those of you saying "it's just a rhythm game, calm down," just because you don't enjoy the game as much as some of the other users doesn't mean we should calm down. Those who enjoy the game, especially tournaments, would like it to be a fair and fun environment. It gives new users a chance to win at something. Imagine if for tournaments there were no divisions....for you, Alex, it wouldn't be too bad but for users like me and many others we would have a 0% of ever winning and that wouldn't be the least bit enjoyable.

When I saw you posting that score I knew you had D2 in the bag. It's not my place, or call to determine who is in what devision.

Besides, even though im whoring out this tourny like no other, I'm still playing for fun haha.

This statement implies that you can't enjoy FFR as much as others if you're not calm, which isn't true. In fact, I think it's the opposite; the more calm you are, the more you will enjoy the game. (nothing against you ssb, but I found this part didn't made sense to me)

Anyway, about Rarity being bumped or not, we can resume the majority of the argumentation to the definition of sandbagging and skillboosting. There's a thin line between those two and there's no way we can prove without a doubt that Rarity was sandbagging. That said, I do believe someone can skillboost a lot in a span of two weeks. Given that this is an official tourney (and tourney tend to skillboost a lot more than casual play) it's almost normal to see people perform very well on songs you have to play 10-20 times to have a solid score.

Am currently updating the OP and will return with some numbers. :3

I can see how what I said could be interpreted that way, but to elaborate just a little this is what it was intended to mean:

I personally (as if it wasn't obvious) have a VERY competitive attitude. Not just on FFR but nearly anything you can compete at in life. For others like me that are highly competitive, we like to do as well as we can and take things more seriously. Now, when I say seriously I do NOT mean that we are never calm and instead of playing for fun, play for the sole reason of beating someone and bragging rights. In other words we enjoy what activity we're doing and if we don't do well, we won't be like "oh well, I could care less." That attitude in my opinion is pathetic. That's more or less saying "I like, or don't mind losing." Only losers like losing. I really enjoy FFR, and yes I get pissed off a lot with the game as do most people, but it's no where near the point where I can't enjoy it. If that was the case I wouldn't be playing it.

Hope this clears that up a little bit better.

8-10 months, yep.

KrazyKitsune went from D1 to D5 from the start of the previous official to now.

EDIT: anyone who says a skillboost shouldn't happen in two weeks that's noticeable need to refer to igotrhythm, who received a substantial skill boost by just switching key setups. With that being said, the drama is completely unnecessary.

I got a skillboost just from getting a new keyboard. Went from average AAA capability level 55-60 to 60-67 in about 2 weeks (which is sort of the difference between D4 and low D5)

You are notorious for taking things way too literal. Are you like this in your English class? If your teacher gives you a quote and says "Alex interpret what this quote means," you seem like the one kid in the class that would literally take the words that make up the quote and rearrange them as your explanation....with that said I'm not explaining what I meant by that....actually I take that back I did in my previous response to noname. I'm sure if you really wanted to, you could have figured it out yourself rather than rewording what I said.

Good luck, it's one hell of a token to unlock. I had to grind for hours two nights in a row to get it, kept ending with 213 misses
(tip: start by not hitting anything until you almost fail at the [14] jump. Then hit it late enough so that the missed arrow before it doesn't reset your combo and keep going until you hit the 214 combo... Play a couple times to learn where it stops, it's easy enough once you figure out where it is. From there you just hit occasional notes and manage your life bar, keeping it alive but never letting it fully fill up)

EDIT: Whoo, improved my score to 55-2-0-4 thanks to Jake Ferguson's tip: "If you play the song on r^2 and press ctrl to quit out, then restart it, the video stays on the white bg and doesn't play. So you can see all the notes "

theres skillboosting. going from like teens to AAAing something. then there is sandbagging. going from non-FC to low SDG. the second thing does not happen in 2 weeks

Doesn't seem that improbable. I was getting scores like 150-10-12-25 on 50s two weeks ago and couldn't PA/AAA anything at all. I've been practicing at ~80 games a day since then and been improving a fair bit :/

Well, Rarity posted about that AAA on the forums as soon as he got it so it's not like he tried to hide it... Also FWIW AAA and Connect are unusually smooth, rhythmic, fun songs - they're over before you know it and not hard to PA well on. But maybe I'm just biased because ClariS songs are awesome :/
