So basically, there's a bit of family stuff going on, especially since I'll be moving to Arizona soon... Family/friends want to say goodbye and hang out before I leave, etc.

I'll be cancelling the tournament for two reasons:

1 - I'm spending a lot of time with family before I leave, so I don't really check FFR all that often, let alone play SM/FFR.
2 - After I move to Arizona, I'm not entirely sure what my situation regarding the internet will be like but that's something I won't be worrying about lol.

Later today, I'll be returning credits to all the donators, as well as divvying up my remaining credits to all of the people that participated in the placement round.

Hopefully this doesn't make me look like too much of a douchebag. <_____>

You can either start this again when you've solidified your situation in Arizona and everyone's ok, or find someone else as suggested. In the latter case, who else knows solo and is willing to host it?

With family matters, that's ok to me...I've seen other instances where tournaments failed because the hosters were just lazy, but you have a good reason.

Perhaps someone responsible enough in D4 can carry on the tourney? I'd do it myself, but I lack the knowledge needed for when it comes to song choices. If there is someone who has enough knowledge of solo charts but doesn't want to take on the full responsibility of running a tournament, I'd be willing to co-host to help with things such as writing the OP, writing the posts for when the rounds start, updating the spreadsheet, etc.

When you're all settled in you should start this back up, it doesn't matter if you don't have enough credits, there are a lot that come from donations.

The only people in D4 even capable of running this tourney are Kommi and I (and LG too if he counts since he wasn't a participant). Kommi's still banned from here, while LG and I don't have much free time due to school and other reasons. Keep in mind too, I'm barely scraping by with managing a community pack.

Either wait for Choof to settle down, wait for Kommi to be officially unbanned whenever that happens, or wait until the end of April when I'm officially finished the school semester. Unless someone from D4 is brave enough to prove me wrong and run this thing. Decisions, decisions...

reuben has the knowledge of hosting a tourney well, but he lacks the knowledge of solo files. I play a lot of solo, but I've never hosted a tourney before, nevermind having the time right now to do so. Even then, other people have a greater repertoire of solo files they've played than I have.

So my proposal is that there should be two hosts for this tourney: one who can work on the list of songs to choose from, and the other to organize the tourney in a general manner (score collecting, credits, other maintenance, etc.). This will certainly break up the work for hosting the tournament.

So if the song organizer is going to pick out songs, make sure to check out my pack and find a number of songs for the tournament as well.

If either of you (or anyone else) want to do the song-picking part of hosting a tournament, send me a PM or write on my comment wall. I've co-hosted a tourney before, so like bmah said I know the general schematics when it comes to organizing one. I just saw so much potential and fun in this tournament, I would hate to see it go to waste, especially since the division's have already been figured out.

If LG could manage to find appropriate songs for each round, reuben can take care of the rest. How does that sound to both of you? I'd also hate to see this tournament go to waste.

If you both manage to start this off, the first thing you'll have to do is to re-accumulate the credits and reconfirm the players attending the tournament...that's something reuben can probably do.

I can spare some time with helping out on song picking (if LG isn't free), probably not on D4 songs though since I'm in it as well.
