Re: New lens
You might have already said this but what are the resolutions on the wide ones.
And if they aren't, could, make the second picture 2880x900? <3 I'm sure you could do it higher quality than I could. EDIT: Its 1600x605, my computer knnnooowwsssss things |

Re: New lens
Wider shots vary, depends how many photos I use to stitch them/the crop factor I shave off afterwards.
Here's two versions of a 2880x900 one~ http://i.imgur.com/GDAA7.jpg http://i.imgur.com/tb3q8.jpg EDIT durrr you meant second for the the bottom two, http://i.imgur.com/jQbxU.jpg

Re: New lens
More, from today and yesterday:
http://www.deviantart.com/download/2...er-d4rjkaq.jpg http://www.deviantart.com/download/2...er-d4rjf1g.jpg http://fc06.deviantart.net/fs71/f/20...er-d4rhsrl.jpg http://fc06.deviantart.net/fs71/f/20...er-d4rf0ni.jpg Took plenty more, not sure when I'll get to editing them. I'd LIKE to go shooting tomorrow too but I doubt I can afford to procrastinate homework any longer. Can you tell I prefer photography over graphic design at the moment?????

Re: New lens
It depends, is it for commercial or just for personal use?

Re: New lens
Well currently, its just for personal use. But maybe to submit to a "Design a pair of skis" contest. The reward being, I get my designed skis made for free. I don't think there is any cash prize or anything.

Re: New lens
Fine by me, just cite me somewhere in the photo credits when submitting to the contest

Re: New lens
The cat picture is excellent. My favorite so far, the cat has a very determined look that you captured really well.

Nothing.

Re: New lens
Why such heavy vignetting? imo having it that heavy detracts some of the detail out of the shot...otherwise...really great shots ;D

Re: New lens
Just helps the mood I like to employ with those types of shots I guess. The cat pic definitely could've done without it on all sides or with some branches masked. But I know what you mean ;D now that I have this GREAT lens I'll be doing a lot less editing with my photos. I won't need to.
Here's an unedited and uncropped pic from my trip to the zoo yesterday. Many more to come. (critiquing myself: Could have stopped it down a bit less than 2.8, and open it to 3.5 or something to keep the rest of the details as sharp as some of the face and the beak. But this was my first real test drive for this lens, turned out pretty damn well and SUPER sharp considering the lighting, it being handheld and stuff.

Re: New lens
Yea, you should have used 3.5 or (lower?); its important to make sure the entire "face" is in focus (right now the eyes are blurred out, there is not as much "impact" to it as it should)
Would love to see what else you would come up with |

Re: New lens
Yep, live 'n learn. Still, that did a pretty remarkable job at 2.8 I must say I think more than anything I wanted to see what I could do with shooting primarily at 2.8, seeing what ways I could find around it if some details were being lost. It's a really fun lens, I'm glad I got a full days' worth of practice with it! And yes, more to come.

Re: New lens
Again, wishing I had more than the f/2.8 on this one but DAMN what it did capture was sharp even at 100% crop Then again, if I had the wing in focus I would have preferred to be zoomed out a slight bit more and perhaps get the branch it was sitting on out of focus instead.
