I'll just mention that evaluating the difficulty of a song isn't what it used to be. I once FCed a Very Challenging song a few years back and now can barely FC a newly added Difficult song ^^

Personally, I think reuben_tate is the person to beat for D2, as he has the ability to AAA 9's (I think he could do fairly well in D3). I'm hoping that I will get top 8 for vrofl, but I'm probably going to fail as soon as D2 starts playing 9's.

This all the way. I know one of his weaknesses and if the later rounds his weakness appears then he is going to have a hard time. I doubt it will appear, but he is good.

I never realized the extent of my skillboosts recently. x.x Two months ago, my best AAA was Excite Bike and I envied your scores Zek! xD And with this tourney lasting about two months, who knows where people will end up in terms of skill level? Zek's right though, I do have my weaknesses, although I'm curious as to which one he's talking about...

I think what's holding me back is:

Watery eyes even after making the screen turn as dark as possible
Inability to keep eyes open for long periods of time
Inability to discern very close together arrows (which is why I often have to speed up the song a bit).

Otherwise I'm fairly good at following a rythm. Maybe one day my brain wiill understand mashed up stuck together triple arrows intwined in hundreds of arrows passing in less than a minute.

Every category already has AAA's in them......

I think what's holding me back is:

Inability to discern very close together arrows (which is why I often have to speed up the song a bit).

For the watery eyes I'd say turn a light on behind you or somewhere, or play during daytime with brightness coming in the room, just so the screen does seem less bright.

Keeping eyes open, it does sometimes happen to be a problem for me but only when I'm stressed out about a song and/or thinking about my eyes, generally if you keep a relaxed mind about keeping your eyes open, you should be able to just relax your eyes while playing a song.

And yes, only way to solve up very close together arrows would be to speed up the song. You could possibly speed it up a lot (or watch a replay) to study the patterns and memorize where they are so you can expect them & be able to know what they are without having to completely read them.
